Background: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a rare malignant tumor, frequently affects pediatric patients, with 35%-40% occurring in the head and neck. This study analyzes the clinicopathologic profile of pediatric head and neck rhabdomyosarcomas from Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico, and South Africa.
Methods: We reviewed 44 cases from 10 Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology services, conducting immunohistochemical analyses of desmin, myogenin, Myo-D1, and Ki67, with quantification via QuPath software.
Over the next decade, Precision Medicine (PM) is poised to become the standard of care in pharmaceutical therapy, necessitating a fundamental transformation in the design and development of innovative custom-made drug products. To date, a comprehensive review linking PM with practical personalized drug formulations is missing. Oncocytic lipoadenoma (OL) is a rare salivary gland tumor characterized by the presence of oncocytic cells and mature adipose tissue. To date, only 30 cases of OL have been reported in the English-language literature. Methods: Clinical data were collected from the records of five oral and maxillofacial pathology services.
A chute was designed following the principles of the Theory of Sampling to minimize the variations in powder flow and provide all particles in the flowing blends with the same opportunity of being selected as a sample. The design also reduces the thickness of the chute to allow the analysis of a higher portion of the flowing blends by a near infrared spectrometer. The blends that flowed through the chute had Carr's index values that fluctuated between 23 and 25 percent, indicating passable flowability.
