Objectives: In China, depressive disorder (DD) among middle-aged and older adults is a significant public health concern. This research utilized the latest Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) database to evaluate the evolving disease burden of DD in this demographic over the past 3 decades.

Methods: Data on the incidence and disability-adjusted life years (DALY) of DD among people aged 45-89 in China between 1992 and 2021 were collected from the GBD 2021.

Premature closure of the epiphyseal plate inducing by the formation of bone bridges after epiphyseal plate injury, can lead to limb shortening and angular deformity, causing adverse effects on the growth and development of adolescents. Therefore, preventing the formation of bone bridges has become the primary task for children with epiphyseal plate fractures. In our study, a novel near-infrared (NIR)-responsive bone repair scaffold (CGCB), namely black phosphorus (BP)-loaded in-situ gel based on curdlan (CUD), β-glycerophosphate (GP) and chitosan (CS), was developed.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), a complication of diabetes, is associated with an increased risk of major amputation and mortality. However, the underlying pathogenesis of DFU remains unclear. The goal of this study was to investigate the role and underlying mechanism of MAF bZIP transcription factor G (MAFG) in DFU wound healing.

Currently, limited research exists on the relationship between osteoarthritis (OA) and Benzophenone-3 (BP-3). This study aims to explore the potential molecular pathways involved, using both in vivo and in vitro biological experiments. In vivo experiments revealed that exposure to BP-3 leads to cartilage damage in the knee joints of rats, suggesting that BP-3 may be a significant risk factor in the development and progression of osteoarthritis.

Cell division cycle 7 (CDC7) plays an indispensable regulatory role in various cellular processes, encompassing the initiation of DNA replication and the maintenance of replication checkpoints. However, dysregulation of CDC7 protein levels is closely associated with the development and progression of several human diseases, particularly cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, targeting the CDC7 kinase is deemed a potential avenue for disease management.
