Introduction: Excess skin after bariatric metabolic surgery may negatively impact quality of life. Nevertheless, not every eligible patient undergoes body contouring surgery, which may be explained by differences in quality of life. The objective of this study was to assess the differences in quality of life between patients with and without a desire for body contouring surgery after bariatric metabolic surgery, and to identify predictive factors that contribute to this desire.

A multidisciplinary task force selected six scales (48 questions) from the validated BODY-Q questionnaire. This subset was gradually introduced and evaluated in a mandatory nationwide registry.

However, deep characterisation of B-cell subsets and their relation to clinical manifestations and disease activity in patients is limited. In this study, we analysed peripheral B-cell subsets phenotype in SLE (n = 35) and healthy controls (HCs, n = 15) by spectral flow cytometry.

Methods: 20 anti-CCP2 positive individuals () presenting musculoskeletal complaints without clinical or ultrasound signs of synovitis; 10 arthritis progressors and 10 matched non-arthritis progressors were included. Longitudinal samples (1-3 time points) of peripheral blood mononuclear cells were assessed using HLA-class II tetramers with 12 different citrullinated candidate autoantigens combined in a >20-colour spectral flow cytometry panel.
The lack of standardization in patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) has made measurement and comparison of quality of life (QoL) outcomes in research focused on obesity treatment challenging. This study reports on the results of the second and third global multidisciplinary Standardizing Quality of life measures in Obesity Treatment (S.Q.

Influenza-like symptoms associated with TLR7-mediated immune activation have been reported in clinical trials of vesatolimod. Therefore, a broader understanding of the safety profile of vesatolimod and association with dose and mechanism of action will help inform future clinical studies.

The aim of this study was to characterize, by flow cytometry, the frequency/activity of monocytes and naturally occurring myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) in peripheral blood samples from patients with periodontitis and patients with periodontitis and RA. : The relative frequency of monocytes and mDCs in the whole blood, the frequency of these cells producing TNFα or IL-6 and the protein expression levels for each cytokine, before and after stimulation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from plus interferon-γ (IFN-γ), were assessed by flow cytometry, in peripheral blood samples from 10 healthy individuals (HEALTHY), 10 patients with periodontitis (PERIO) and 17 patients with periodontitis and RA (PERIO+RA).

Methods: Patients >40y of age undergoing bariatric surgery and using <2 antihypertensive drugs and no insulin were prospectively included.
Background: The BODY-Q is a widely used patient-reported outcome measure for comprehensive assessment of treatment outcomes specific to patients undergoing body contouring surgery (BCS). However, for the BODY-Q to be meaningfully interpreted and used in clinical practice, minimal important difference (MID) scores are needed. A MID is defined as the smallest change in outcome measure score that patients perceive as important.

The objective of this study was to select a core set of patient-reported outcomes and patient-reported outcome measures to be used in clinical obesity care.
Materials And Methods: The Standardizing Quality of Life in Obesity Treatment III, face-to-face hybrid consensus meeting, including people living with obesity as well as healthcare providers, was held in Maastricht, the Netherlands, in 2022.
Objective: Studies suggest rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients could benefit from periodontal treatment. However, published data are inconsistent, and there is a need for better-controlled research. Our study aims to address these limitations.

EudraVigilance (EV) serves as the primary system for managing and analysing information concerning suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) within the European Economic Area. Despite its various functionalities, the current format for electronic submissions of safety reports lacks a specific data element indicating medicine exposure during pregnancy.

Nuclear receptor Nur77 is known to regulate mitochondrial metabolism in macrophages and skeletal muscle. Here, we compared genome-wide Nur77 binding site and target gene expression in these two cell types, which revealed conserved regulation of mitochondrial genes and enrichment of motifs for the transcription factor Yin-Yang 1 (YY1).

Here, we investigated whether the clinical features of and immunological factors in RA pathogenesis could be linked to the NO lung dynamics in early disease. A total of 44 patients with early RA and anti-citrullinated peptide antibodies (ACPAs), specified as cyclic citrullinated peptide 2 (CCP2), were included.

The clinical utility of BODY-Q is hampered by the lack of guidance on score interpretation. This study aimed to determine minimal important difference (MID) for assessment of BODY-Q.

While cellular mechanics have been implicated in inflammation, the contribution of Nur77 to these mechanical processes remains elusive. Macrophages exhibit remarkable plasticity in their morphology and mechanics, enabling them to adapt and execute essential inflammatory functions, such as navigating through inflamed tissue and pathogen engulfment.

The TLR7 agonist, vesatolimod, was previously associated with a modest delay in viral rebound following analytical treatment interruption in HIV controllers (HCs). Using a retrospective analysis of fecal samples from HCs treated with vesatolimod or placebo (NCT03060447), people with chronic HIV (CH; NCT02858401) or without HIV (PWOH), we examined fecal microbiome profile in HCs before/after treatment, and in CH and PWOH.

Mocking enactments are a prime example of such complex social actions as they are layered both interactionally and stance-related, and they rely significantly on the use of bodily visual resources, depicting rather than describing events and stances. Using Du Bois' Stance Triangle as a framework, this study investigates mocking enactments as a case study to unravel the multimodal aspects of layered stance expressions.

This paper reviews the issues related to device and supply lifecycles and discusses the opportunities and challenges they present for sustainable surgical growth in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries.
Observations: This review found, in LMICs countries, regulatory disparities persist that limit effective harmonization secondary to highly variable national policies and a lack of prioritized enforcement.
Objective: To examine health-related quality of life (HRQL) and satisfaction with appearance in patients who have undergone bariatric surgery (BS) with or without subsequent body contouring surgery (BCS) in relation to the general population normative for the BODY-Q.
Background: The long-term impact of BS with or without BCS has not been established using rigorously developed and validated patient-reported outcome measures. The BODY-Q is a patient-reported outcome measure developed to measure changes in HRQL and satisfaction with appearance in patients with BS and BCS.
Background: Male infertility is in 20-70% of cases the cause of a couple's infertility. Severe forms of male infertility are best treated with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). The psychosocial impact of infertility and ICSI on men is unclear because the focus is socially, clinically, and scientifically on women.
