The oil palm industry is a strategic and leading sector of agriculture that is developing in Indonesia. Riau is a province in this country that has quite large natural resources in the plantation with the largest contribution being oil palm. This study aims to determine the form of economic transformation based on superior commodities through the development of a sustainable palm oil industry.

Unlabelled: The study aimed to evaluate the longitudinal impact of ISTIFAR programme (Islamic-Based Training for Family Resilience) to the family state of coping, resilience and disaster preparedness on longitudinal observation. A quasi-experimental design was employed with pre- and post-test intervention group only. The sample size was 63 families that survived the earthquake, which sampled using purposive sampling.

Feasibility of using toroidal transceivers for acquiring intraoperative MR images around deep brain stimulation electrodes.

Introduction: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides excellent soft tissue contrast for visualizing of deep brain stimulation (DBS) targets, allowing validation of the electrode placement, and assessing complications such as microhemorrhage and edema. However, the presence of the electrodes can introduce challenges such as radiofrequency (RF) induced current artifacts and excessive heating of the electrode contacts. Additionally, extended procedure times are also considered a disadvantage when using MRI as an intraoperative imaging modality following DBS electrode placement.

The objective is to develop immersive sensory environments that closely resemble real-world scenarios, offering accurate insights into consumer perceptions and preferences.

Infertility rates have risen significantly, one of which is due to monosodium glutamate (MSG) consumption. Recent studies have shown that flavonoids in black garlic () act as antioxidants. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of black garlic extract (BGE) on gonadosomatic index, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels, and spermatozoa quality in rats exposed to MSG.

Natural products encompass a diverse range of compounds with high impact applications in consumer care, agriculture and most notably, therapeutics. However, despite the expansive chemical repertoire indicated in genomic information of microbes, only a small subset can be obtained under laboratory conditions. To increase accessible chemical space and realize Nature's full chemical potential, a multi-pronged genetic- and cultivation-based strategy has been employed to activate and upregulate natural product biosyntheses in native and heterologous strains.

Computational design of mechanical metamaterials.

In the past few years, design of mechanical metamaterials has been empowered by computational tools that have allowed the community to overcome limitations of human intuition. By leveraging efficient optimization algorithms and computational physics models, it is now possible to explore vast design spaces, achieving new material functionalities with unprecedented performance. Here, we present our viewpoint on the state of the art of computational metamaterials design, discussing recent advances in topology optimization and machine learning design with respect to challenges in additive manufacturing.

Association between serum uric acid levels with essential hypertension and its metabolic variables in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Introduction: Hyperuricaemia is common in essential hypertension with varying results in different populations. This study sought to ascertain the association between serum uric acid levels and essential hypertension in Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM).

Materials And Methods: A case-control study design involving 132 subjects (88 subjects of hypertension patients for case group and 44 subjects for control group) aged 18 to 40 years old of both genders was conducted at HUSM primary care clinic and physician clinic from May 2020 to May 2021.

Feasible diagnostic assays are required to detect new tuberculosis (TB) cases and monitor treatment. This study aimed to evaluate evidence on tryptophan (Trp) and its metabolites as proposed biomarkers for TB. Through specific keyword searches, we identified 170 relevant literature sources and included seven publications (from 2013 to 2023).

Development of a Hospital-Stakeholder Collaboration Tool Using Mixed Methods to Assess Stakeholder Perspectives for Hospital Service Improvement.

Background: The purpose of this study was to develop the Hospital-Stakeholder Collaboration (HSC) Tool and Hospital Performance Factor (HPF) Tool to explore stakeholder perception and value for hospital service improvement.

Methods: This exploratory mixed-method study involved three steps: initial tool development (Step 1), validity testing (Step 2), and module development (Step 3). In Step 1, qualitative data collection through literature reviews, focus group discussions, and interviews with hospital management experts led to the creation of the preliminary tools.

Galactagogue activity of poly-herbal decoction from Indonesia: a randomized open label controlled trial.

Objectives: Indonesia have several herbs empirically used as galactagogue. However there are limited clinical evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of this herbs especially poly-herb. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of polyherbal galactagogue (PHG) consist of katuk leaves, torbangun leaves and papaya leaves compared to commercial galactagogue capsules (CGC) that contain a single plant extract, katuk leaves.

Functional capacity and quality of life improvement in stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients following physical exercise and chicken egg white supplementation.

The pillars of comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients include physical exercise and good nutrition. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of pulmonary rehabilitation, which included physical exercise and chicken egg white supplementation, on the quality of life (QoL) and functional capacity among patients with stable COPD. The COPD patients were enrolled prospectively in this quasi-experimental study and completed a 12-week smartphone-guided home-based physical exercise program that comprised strength and resistance training three times per week for 30 minutes each session.

The mechanism of damage involves the production of excess free radicals that trigger oxidative stress in the skin. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of chicken egg white supplementation on dyspnea degree and the incidence of exacerbations in stable COPD patients who perform physical exercise independently at home.

Natural products possess significant therapeutic potential but remain underutilized despite advances in genomics and bioinformatics. While there are approaches to activate and upregulate natural product biosynthesis in both native and heterologous microbial strains, a comprehensive strategy to elicit production of natural products as well as a generalizable and efficient method to interrogate diverse native strains collection, remains lacking. Here, we explore a flexible and robust integrase-mediated multi-pronged activation approach to reliably perturb and globally trigger antibiotics production in actinobacteria.

A workflow for predicting radiofrequency-induced heating around bilateral deep brain stimulation electrodes in MRI.

Background: Heating around deep brain stimulation (DBS) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) occurs when the time-varying electromagnetic (EM) fields induce currents in the electrodes which can generate heat and potentially cause tissue damage. Predicting the heating around the electrode contacts is important to ensure the safety of patients with DBS implants undergoing an MRI scan. We previously proposed a workflow to predict heating around DBS contacts and introduced a parameter, equivalent transimpedance, that is independent of electrode trajectories, termination, and radiofrequency (RF) excitations.

Impaired health-related quality of life due to elevated risk of developing diabetes: A cross-sectional study in Indonesia.

Background: This study investigated the association between elevated risk of developing diabetes and impaired health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in the Indonesian population.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1,336 Indonesians from the general population who had no previous diagnosis of diabetes. Utility score to represent HRQoL was measured using the EuroQol 5-dimension, while the risk for developing diabetes was determined using the Finnish Diabetes Risk Score (FINDRISC) instrument.
