Lactoferrin (Lf) is a naturally occurring glycoprotein known for its antiviral and antibacterial properties and is present in various physiological fluids. Numerous studies have demonstrated its antiviral effectiveness against multiple viruses, such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), influenza virus (IFV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Lf, a vital component of the mucosal defense system, plays a crucial role in inhibiting viral infection by binding to both host cells and viral particles, such as the Hepatitis C virus (HCV).

Ergonomic Considerations in the Incidence of CTS in College of Dentistry, King Khalid University, Abha - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Purpose: Ergonomics in dentistry poses some challenges to dentists and may require considerable concentration and attention to detail. This research enables early recognition and prevention of common ergonomic-related conditions, such as carpel tunnel syndrome, back pain and neck pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of ergonomic-related problems concerning carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS) and to know the efficacy of independent and combined clinical tests used in diagnosing it.

Presentation and diagnosis of allergic fungal sinusitis.

Background: Allergic fungal sinusitis (AFS) is a form of fungal disease that has recently been considered a distinct clinicopathologic entity. Other forms of fungal sinusitis include acute-fulminant (invasive), chronic indolent (invasive) and mycetoma (non-invasive). Objectives were to assess the presentation and to describe the diagnostic techniques for allergic fungal sinusitis in our setup.

Background: Cochlear implant is a medical treatment option for individuals with severe to profound sensori-neural hearing loss on account of non-functioning cochlea or part thereof. Technology is ever evolving and the candidacy criteria are widening. Appropriate selection of patient, successful implantation of an appropriate device and adequate post-implantation rehabilitation protocol are the key factors that dictate the eventual outcome.

Post-tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy morbidity & complications at District Headquarter Hospital Daggar.

Background: Tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy is one of the commonly performed operations in ENT practice. Morbidity & complications associated with tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy include severe otalgia, pyrexia, odynophagia and haemorrhage.

Methods: A prospective study was undertaken from April 1996 to April 2001 to report the experience regarding postoperative morbidity/complications in tonsillectomy and/or adenotonsillectomy.
