Background: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa) are commonly used in assisted reproduction technology (ART) cycles to prevent a luteinising hormone (LH) surge during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) prior to planned oocyte retrieval, thus optimising the chances of live birth. We compared the benefits and risks of the different GnRHa protocols used.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of different GnRHa protocols used as adjuncts to COH in women undergoing ART.

The effect of hot isostatic pressing (HIP) on the microstructure and properties of hot dip aluminum coating cooled in a magnetic field was investigated in this study. In order to improve the microstructure and properties of magnetic dip aluminum coating, hot isostatic pressing technology was used for post-treatment. Initially, a traditional aluminum-impregnated coating was prepared on the surface of titanium alloy TA15, an alternating electromagnetic field was applied during the forming and solidification process of the coating.

Background: Fat grafting is a highly versatile option in the reconstructive armamentarium but with unpredictable retention rates and outcomes. The primary outcome of this systematic review was to assess whether secondary mechanically processed lipoaspirate favorably enhances the vasculogenic potential of fat grafts when compared to unprocessed lipoaspirate or fat grafts prepared using centrifugation alone. The secondary outcome was to assess the evidence around graft retention and improved outcomes when comparing the aforementioned groups.

Objective: Posttraumatic epilepsy (PTE) significantly impacts morbidity and mortality, yet local PTE data remain scarce. In addition, there is a lack of evidence on cognitive comorbidity in individuals with PTE in the literature. We sought to identify potential PTE predictors and evaluate cognitive comorbidity in patients with PTE.

As a serious blood infection disease, sepsis is characterized by a high mortality risk and many complications. Accurate assessment of mortality risk of patients with sepsis can help physicians in Intensive Care Unit make optimal clinical decisions, which in turn can effectively save patients' lives. However, most of the current clinical models used for assessing mortality risk in sepsis patients are based on conventional indicators.

Objective: To investigate the association between the concentration of perchlorate in drinking water and the height and weight of children and adolescents in Sichuan Province.

Methods: Perchlorate in the drinking water of 24 counties in Sichuan Province from 2021 to 2022 was detected and analyzed, 66 drinking water samples were collected, and the content of perchlorate in drinking water during the wet season and dry season was detected by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography in series. The linear mixed effect model was used to estimate the relationship between perchlorate in drinking water and the height and weight of 144,644 children and adolescents, and 33 pieces of local average wage data were used as confounding factors for quality control.

Background: The significance of asymmetric enhancement on cavernous sinus MRIs in the differential diagnosis of ischemic and inflammatory oculomotor cranial nerve (OCN) palsies remains controversial. This study explored the cavernous sinus MRI findings for cavernous sinus idiopathic inflammation (inflammation group), microvascular ischemic OCN palsy (ischemic group), and ocular myasthenia gravis (OMG group) patients.

Methods: A total of 66, 117, and 60 patients were included in the inflammation, ischemic, and OMG groups, respectively.

  • Liver fibrosis is a reversible condition caused by various injuries that, if not addressed, can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer, and the gut microbiota plays a significant role in its progression.
  • Veronicastrum latifolium (VLY) is a traditional remedy used in China for liver-related diseases, and research shows its aqueous extract can alleviate liver damage and fibrosis in mice.
  • The study found that VLY water extract not only improved liver function and structure but also altered the gut microbiota composition, increasing beneficial bacteria that help reduce inflammation and fibrosis in the liver.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the anti-inflammatory and anti-osteoclastogenesis properties of three types of Zanthoxylum seed oil (ZSO) derived from different species, specifically Zanthoxylum schinifolium, Zanthoxylum armatum, and Zanthoxylum bungeanum.
  • - Using methods like Soxhlet extraction and GC-FID analysis, the researchers analyzed the fatty acid composition of these oils and tested their effects on inflammatory factors in LPS-induced macrophages through RT-qPCR and TRAP staining.
  • - Results showed that all three ZSO types reduced inflammatory marker expression at a higher concentration, with ZSSO exhibiting the strongest anti-inflammatory effects; additionally, they effectively inhibited the formation

Tissue engineered cartilage for external ear reconstruction of congenital deformities, such as microtia or resulting from trauma, remains a significant challenge for plastic and reconstructive surgeons. Current strategies involve harvesting autologous costal cartilage or expanding autologous chondrocytes ex vivo. However, these procedures often lead to donor site morbidity and a cell source with limited expansion capacity.

This study aimed to explore nitrogen fertilizer management measures to synergistically improve wheat yields and water and nitrogen use efficiency under supplemental irrigation based on soil moisture in the Huang Huai winter wheat area. Wheat variety "Yannong 1212" was used as the test material. There were three nitrogen application levels, 150 kg·hm (N), 210 kg·hm (N), and 270 kg·hm (the conventional nitrogen application rate in the Huang Huai winter wheat area, N), with the relative soil water content of 0-40 cm of each treatment was supplemented to 70% at the jointing and flowering stages.

Thyroid hormones are involved in numerous physiological processes as regulators of metabolism, regulating organ growth, and mental state. Bisphenol compounds (BPs) are recognized as chemicals that interfere with endocrine balance. Because BPs have a similar structure to thyroxine, they can compete for binding to thyroid protein and disrupt the normal physiological activity of the thyroid system.
