Read-across, has generated much attention and has been used in many regulatory schemes as an alternative approach to testing globally. The regulatory application of read-across in the chemical management in China is progressing but still limited. A workshop on the "Read-across: Principle, case study and its potential regulatory application in China", organized by the Chemical Risk Assessment Specialty Group under the Committee of Industrial Toxicology of Chinese Society of Toxicology, was held on May 28, 2019 to discuss the potential broader application and acceptance of read-across to support chemical risk assessment in China.

Different biomarkers including neuroimaging have been developed to serve the purpose. With extensive methodology development efforts on neuroimaging, an emerging field is deep learning research.

In the present study, the safety and feasibility of a mixture of N-butyl cyanoacrylate and lipiodol (NBCA/Lip) was evaluated in order to investigate the optimal combination for application as a fiducial marker for radiotherapy. Four combinations of NBCA/Lip injection (1:1-0.

Increased levels of NfL measured in either cerebrospinal fluid or blood is thought to be a biomarker of neuronal damage in neurodegenerative diseases. However, there have been limited investigations relating NfL to the concurrent measures of white matter (WM) decline that it should reflect.

Herein, the structures of HAs extracted from Zhaotong and Mile lignites (denoted as ZLHA and MLHA, respectively) were characterized and compared to each other using comprehensive spectral analyses. As a result, the UV-Vis spectrum analyses of HAs indicated that the molecular weight of MLHA is larger than that of ZLHA.

Four thousand Chinese men and women ≥ 65 years recruited from Hong Kong communities were prospectively followed up. Measures of muscle mass, grip strength, gait speed and falls in the previous year were recorded at baseline, the 2nd year and the 4th year visit for each subject.

We aimed to characterise cross-sectional and longitudinal plasma NfL measurements and determine the age at which NfL concentrations begin to differentiate between carriers of the presenilin 1 (PSEN1) E280A (Glu280Ala) mutation and age-matched non-carriers from the Colombian autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease kindred.
Methods: In this cross-sectional and longitudinal cohort study, members of the familial Alzheimer's disease Colombian kindred aged 8-75 years with no other neurological or health conditions were recruited from the Alzheimer's Prevention Initiative Registry at the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia) between Aug 1, 1995, and Dec 15, 2018.
Background: The pathogenesis of dental caries remains unclear, with increasing evidence suggesting that genetic susceptibility plays an essential role. Previous studies have reported the association between genetic polymorphisms in lactotransferrin (LTF) and the risk of dental caries with inconsistent results.
Methods: A systematic literature search of the PubMed, Cochrane Library, HuGE and Google Scholar databases was performed by two authors independently for papers published before December 5, 2019 on the association between genetic variants in LTF and the risk of dental caries.
Curvature-based three-dimensional cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) allows regional function characterization without an external spatial frame of reference. However, introduction of this modality into clinical practice is hampered by lack of reference values. We aim to establish normal ranges for 3D left ventricular (LV) regional parameters in relation to age and gender for 171 healthy subjects.

By March 19, over 200 thousand confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection and over 9000 deaths have been reported throughout the world. For this infectious disease, nucleic acid detection is still the gold standard for pathogenic detection.

Methods: Of the 252 enrolled, we present data on a total of 242 mutation carriers and non-carriers matched by age range, excluding data on 10 participants to protect participant confidentiality, genetic status, and trial integrity.
Results: We summarize demographic, clinical, cognitive, and behavioral data from 167 mutation carriers and 75 non-carriers, 30 to 53 years of age.
Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with activating EGFR mutations initially respond to first-generation EGFR inhibitors; however, the efficacy of these drugs is limited by acquired resistance driven by the EGFR mutation. The discovery of third-generation EGFR inhibitors overcoming EGFR and their new resistance mechanisms have attracted much attention.
Methods: We examined the antitumor activities and potential resistance mechanism of a novel EGFR third-generation inhibitor in vitro and in vivo using ELISA, SRB assay, immunoblotting, flow cytometric analysis, kinase array, qRT-PCR and tumor xenograft models.
An increasing number of studies have demonstrated that blue space can promote the recovery of the human body, as does green space. However, the influence of blue space on the color space has been studied much less. Based on research on color psychology and healthy cities, the current study takes Yijie District of Dujiangyan City as the research object.

However, regardless of the stretchability of the sensing material, the resolution of small strain changes or the hysteresis between loading/unloading states has always limited the various applications of these sensors. In this paper, a microfluidic flexible strain sensor was achieved by introducing liquid metal eutectic gallium indium (EGaIn) embedded into a wave-shaped microchannel elastomeric matrix (300 μm width × 70 μm height).

It is urgent to assess the ecological risk and identify the sources for heavy metals. A total of 111 topsoil samples were collected from four park playgrounds in Xi'an, and the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument was used to measure the concentrations of heavy metals including chromium(Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), lead (Pb), manganese (Mn), and cobalt (Co), respectively.

Ten foreign professors who taught in China were recruited from three Chinese universities. Semi-structured interviews on the participants' experience of cross-cultural adaptation in China were conducted.

Previous pharmacogenetic studies have by and large only involved genes in neurotransmitter systems, which accounted for very small variances. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate whether the neurodevelopmental genes identified in a prior ADHD etiology Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) could predict patients' responses to MPH and ATX, given the aforementioned mechanisms of action.

However, there are few studies on the comparison between brain imaging of different mood states shown by patients with bipolar disorder. This study is aimed at exploring the differences existing in brain structures between children with bipolar disorder and that of healthy controls, and then it tries to further explore whether there is a structural difference between the states of mania and remission in children with bipolar disorder.

Physical activity, correlating with both serum 25[OH]D concentration and cardiovascular health, may have an effect on the dose-relationships.
Methods And Results: At baseline, 2790 participants aged 65 years and over, free of vitamin D supplementation use, had assays for serum 25[OH]D concentrations and health related characteristics and measurements, were followed up for cardiovascular events and death by up to 7 and 15 years, respectively.

Genome-wide association study (GWAS) has determined the metabotropic glutamate receptor 7 (GRM7) gene as potential locus for schizophrenia risk variants; However, the relationship between the GRM7 variants and the risk of schizophrenia is still uncertain, and there are significant individual variations in response to the antipsychotic drugs. In order to identify susceptible gene and drug-response-related markers, 2413 subjects in our research were chosen for determining drug-response-related markers in schizophrenia. The rs1516569 variant (OR = 0.
