Immunogenic cell death (ICD) offers a promising avenue for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, optimizing immune responses remains a formidable challenge. This study presents the design of RBCm@Pt-CoNi layered double hydroxide (RmPLH), an innovative sonosensitizer for sonodynamic therapy (SDT), aimed at enhancing the efficacy of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors by inducing robust ICD responses.

However, the properties of the hAECs and their proliferative mechanisms remain unclear. Here, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is performed on hAECs obtained from amniotic tissues at different gestational ages and passages during in vitro culture.

Methods: Data from electronic medical records from two tertiary hospitals, collected between January 2012 and December 2019, were analyzed for this study. All IAs were confirmed by computed tomographic angiography or digital subtraction angiography.
Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), as one of the most advanced methods for the green production of hydrogen, is greatly impeded by inefficient mass transfer. Here we present an efficiently reactant enriched and mass traffic system by integrating high-curvature Pt nanocones with 3D porous TiAl framework to enhance mass transfer rate. Theoretical simulations, in situ Raman spectroscopy and potential-dependent Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results disclose that the strong local electric field induced by high-curvature Pt can greatly promote the HO supply rate during HER, resulting in ∼1.

While initial efforts focused on chemotherapy-induced pyroptosis, concerns about systemic inflammation highlight the need for precise activation strategies. Photothermal therapy emerges as a promising non-invasive technique, minimizing pyroptosis-related side effects by targeting tumors spatially and temporally.

Overcoming cancer sarcopenia is important for cancer treatment. Cystine and theanine (CT), antioxidant amino acids, have been applied to the nutritional intervention of various diseases but their effects remain unclear on cancer sarcopenia.

However, commonly used disinfection methods, such as chlorination, ultraviolet irradiation, and membrane filtration, experience several challenges such as continuous chemical dosing, the spread of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), and intensive energy consumption.
Methods: Here, we perform a simultaneous elimination of pathogens and ARGs in drinking water using local electric fields and in-situ generated trace copper ions (LEF-Cu) without external chemical dosing.
Since the development of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), immunotherapy has been widely used as a novel cancer treatment. However, the efficacy of tumor immunotherapy is largely dependent on the tumor microenvironment (TME). The high degree of heterogeneity within TME remains a major obstacle to acquire satisfactory therapeutic.

Methods: Employing a retrospective cohort study design, this study collected patients with ruptured IA who received endovascular treatment at Jingzhou First People's Hospital during the inclusion period from September 2022 to December 2023. The entire dataset was randomly split into training and testing dataset with a 7:3 ratio.
Tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) has been extensively employed to investigate the light-matter interaction at the nanoscale. However, the current TERS strategies lack the ability to excite the low-background inhomogeneous electromagnetic field with significant enhancement of electric field, electric field gradient, and optomagnetic field, simultaneously. To overcome this, we developed a fiber vector light-field-based TERS strategy aimed at exploring the multipole Raman scattering processes of molecules.

This remains an area of unmet clinical need for optimal therapy for BOS patients partly due to the limited understanding of pathogenic mechanisms.
Methods: We collected blood samples from 22 patients with cGVHD and 11 patients without cGVHD following allo-HSCT.
Three-dimensional printed Ti-6Al-4V hemipelvic prosthesis has become a current popular method for pelvic defect reconstruction. This paper presents a novel biomimetic hemipelvic prosthesis design that utilises patient-specific anatomical data in conjunction with the Voronoi diagram algorithm. Unlike traditional design methods that rely on fixed, homogeneous unit cell, the Voronoi diagram enables to create imitation of trabecular structure (ITS).

Background: The lateral locking plate for the proximal humerus is currently the most commonly used surgical procedure for the treatment of elderly proximal humeral comminuted fractures. Previous studies have found that the rate of postoperative complications in patients of proximal humerus fractures with medial column involvement is relatively high. Through biomechanical methods, this study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the conventional lateral locking plate fixation along with the addition of the metacarpal supporting plate on the medial column in the treatment for proximal humeral fractures involving the medial column.
