Doublecortin (DCX) is a microtubule-associated protein known to be a key regulator of neuronal migration and differentiation during brain development. However, the role of DCX, particularly in regulating the survival and growth of glioma cells, remains unclear. In this study, we utilized CRISPR/Cas9 technology to knock down DCX in the human glioma cell line (U251).

Methods: A cross-sectional, anonymous, self-reported online questionnaire survey was conducted among all participants. The questionnaire consisted of five parts: sociodemographic characteristics and COVID-19 epidemic-related factors, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire-5 (MEQ-5), and 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12).
Objective: To explore the anti-inflammatory components and mechanism of the non-volatile ingredients of patchouli.
Methods: High performance liquid chromatography-heated electron spray ionization-high resolution mass spectroscope (HPLC-HESI-HRMS) was used to analyze the chemical constituents of the non-volatile ingredients of patchouli. The anti-inflammatory activity of ingredients was evaluated using lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced RAW264.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of Dahuang Mudan Tang (, DHMD) and allopurinol on the treatment of chronic kidney disease staged G1-G3b patients with hyperuricemia and to provide novel insights into the clinical management of chronic kidney disease complications.
Methods: A total of 80 chronic kidney patients staged G1-G3b with hyperuricemia were randomly grouped to receive single allopurinol treatment (control) and combined treatment with DHMD (treated) for 8 weeks. The kidney function and proteinuria indicators of patients were compared between pre-and post-treatment.
Background: Intracranial aneurysms associated with cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are a rare condition in the clinic, and treatment is very difficult due to their particular anatomical features. We present our experience in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms with AVMs and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of endovascular treatment combined with microsurgical resection (the hybrid operation).
Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study in our neurosurgical department from January 2015 to January 2021.
Porous titanium-based PbO electrodes were successfully fabricated by pulse electrodeposition method. The primary pulse electrodeposition parameters, including pulse frequency (f), duty ratio (γ), average current density (J) and electrodeposition time (t) were considered in this study. An orthogonal experiment was designed based on those four factors and in three levels.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a potential etiology of disc degeneration. Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is currently regarded as a powerful treatment option for type 2 diabetes. Apart from the beneficial effects on glycaemic control, GLP-1 has been reported to exert functions in a variety of tissues on modulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

However, the substrates of FBX8 for destruction in the progression of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) need to be explored. Here, we show that loss of FBX8 accelerates chemical-induced colon tumorigenesis.

Herein, a self-standing LiMnNiO/graphene membrane was synthesized as a binder-free cathode for Li-ion batteries. Integrating the graphene membrane with LiMnNiO forming a LiMnNiO/graphene structure significantly increases the surface areas and pore volumes of the cathode, as well as the reversibility of oxygen redox during the charge-discharge process.

IL-36 cytokines (IL-36α, IL-36β, IL-36γ and IL-36Ra) are important players in infection and immunity. However, their roles in the pathogenesis of chronic HBV infection remain unknown.

Methods: The imaging and medical records of 129 patients with PM/DM who met the Bohan and Peter diagnostic criteria were retrospectively analyzed. STIR-WBMRI was performed in all patients.
DUSP1/MKP1 is a dual-specific phosphatase that regulates MAPK activity and is known to play a key role in tumor biology. Its function in gallbladder cancer (GBC) remains largely unknown, however. By exploring its activities in two GBC cell lines (SGC996 and GBC-SD), DUSP1 was found to inhibit GBC cell proliferation, migration and invasion.

Methods: From February 2006 to June 2013, 10 patients with soft tissue defect on lower shank and foot were included. The posterior tibial vessel on healthy lower extremity was chosen as recipient vessel and anastomosed with free latissimus dorsi musculo-cutaneous flap, or free latissimus dorsi musculo-cutaneous flap combined with thoracic-umbilical skin flap or anterolateral femoral musculo-cutaneous flap.
The VP60 protein of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is a structural protein with important roles in viral replication and assembly. In this study, we immunized BALB/c mice with the RHDV-TP strain. Six monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were selected and characterized by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, Western blotting, and indirectly immunofluorescence analysis (IFA).

One member of the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), MMP-1, has been reported to be associated with CAD. To identify the markers contributing to the genetic susceptibility to CAD, nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms (rs1799750, rs498186, rs475007, rs514921, rs494379, rs996999, rs2071232, rs1938901, and rs2239008) throughout the MMP-1 gene were genotyped using MALDI-TOF within the MassARRAY system, and the allele and genotype distributions were compared between 438 healthy controls and 411 patients with CAD from a Chinese Han population.

Hydration reaction has the potential to combine and solidify some recalcitrant substances, and thus could be applied as the advanced leachate treatment process. It was found that COD and NH3N decreased from 485 to<250mg/L and 91 to 10mg/L, with the removal rate over 50% and 90% in the first 6d, respectively, and COD and NH3N removal capacity were around 23.

The ability of nanoscaled ZnO films to enhance fluorescence was studied. We found that the fluorescence intensities of Cy5, rhodamine 6G, and fluorescein can be enhanced about 10-fold on nanoscaled ZnO films as compared to that on glass substrates. The lifetimes of all samples were measured, and no obvious change in lifetime was observed for dyes on different substrates.

Then, at different time points, comparing with control groups, we detected enhanced lymphocyte proliferation and up-regulated Th1-type cytokines, but down-regulated Th2-type cytokines by ELISA. Finally, to research the involved mechanisms, an increased ratio of T-bet/GATA-3 mRNA expression was found by real-time polymerase chain reaction.
