Background: The evolutionarily conserved Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) plays a vital role in epigenetic gene repression by depositing tri-methylation on lysine residue K27 of histone H3 (H3K27me3) at the target loci, thus participating in diverse biological processes. However, few reports about PRC2 are available in plant species with large and complicated genomes, like cotton.

Results: Here, we performed a genome-wide identification and comprehensive analysis of cotton PRC2 core components, especially in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum).

A large body of knowledge about magnetism is attained from models of interacting spins, which usually reside on magnetic ions. Proposals beyond the ionic picture are uncommon and seldom verified by direct observations in conjunction with microscopic theory. Here, using inelastic neutron scattering to study the itinerant near-ferromagnet MnSi, we find that the system's fundamental magnetic units are interconnected, extended molecular orbitals consisting of three Mn atoms each rather than individual Mn atoms.

Rationale: The polymerized impurities in oxacillin sodium can induce allergic reaction, which can seriously threaten the health of patients. Gel filtration chromatography (GFC) is currently widely used for the analysis of polymerized impurities, but it has drawbacks. To effectively control the polymerized impurities in oxacillin sodium, a high-performance size exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) method and a reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method were established to replace the classical GFC method.

The complexity and specificity of lung tumor motion render it necessary to determine the external and internal correlation individually before applying indirect tumor tracking. However, the correlation cannot be determined from patient respiratory and tumor clinical characteristics before treatment. The purpose of this study is to present a machine learning model for an external/internal correlation prediction that is based on computed tomography (CT) radiomic features.

Accurate estimate of relatedness is important for genetic data analyses, such as heritability estimation and association mapping based on data collected from genome-wide association studies. Inaccurate relatedness estimates may lead to biased heritability estimations and spurious associations. Individual-level genotype data are often used to estimate kinship coefficient between individuals.
