In the agricultural sector, labor reduction is a significant obstacle to increasing potato production and the use of machinery is considered an effective solution. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the potential and profitability of implementing agricultural machinery and develop a specific strategy in Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out from September 2021 to April 2022, and the demonstration farming (demfarm) method was used to test three technology package, with and without agricultural machinery and with existing technology as a control.

Taeniasis and cysticercosis are known to be endemic in several Indonesian islands, although relatively little recent epidemiological data are available. As most Indonesian people are Muslims, taeniasis/cysticercosis caused by the pork tapeworm, Taenia solium, has a restricted presence in non-Muslim societies and is endemic only among some Hindu communities on the island of Bali. From January 2011 until September 2016, screening of taeniasis carriers was carried out in a town in Gianyar District (Taenia saginata) and in villages which consisted of several Banjars (the smallest community units) on the eastern slope of Mt. Agung, Karangasem District (Taenia solium) in Bali, Indonesia. Fecal samples from all community members who chose to participate were examined microscopically for detection of taeniid eggs each person completedwith a questionnaire to determine if they had seen whitish, noodle-like proglottids (anamnesis) in their feces.

GND-PCA-based statistical modeling of diaphragm motion extracted from 4D MRI.

We analyzed a statistical model of diaphragm motion using regular principal component analysis (PCA) and generalized N-dimensional PCA (GND-PCA). First, we generate 4D MRI of respiratory motion from 2D MRI using an intersection profile method. We then extract semiautomatically the diaphragm boundary from the 4D-MRI to get subject-specific diaphragm motion.

Interaction of Hb adana (HBA2: c.179G>A) with deletional and nondeletional α(+)-thalassemia mutations: diverse hematological and clinical features.

We describe 27 cases of mild-to-severe α-thalassemia (α-thal) syndrome caused by interaction of Hb Adana [α59(E8)Gly→Asp, GGC>GAC (α2)] with deletional and nondeletional α(+)-thal mutations in Indonesian patients. Hematological profiles and clinical manifestations of all patients were assessed by routine procedures. The genotypes were generated by a multiplex-polymerase chain reaction (m-PCR), PCR-RFLP (restriction fragment length polymorphism)-based method, and DNA sequencing.
