Background: Chlorpyrifos belongs to a broad-spectrum organophosphate insecticide that has high toxicity, is metabolized in the liver by the oxidation reaction, and can inhibit acetylcholinesterase activity. Acetylcholinesterase inhibition generates the reactive oxygen species and induces oxidative stress, which ultimately results in cellular damage like in the kidney. Examining blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels, creatinine, and kidney histopathology is an appropriate indicator to assess the toxicity of chlorpyrifos to the degree of damage to cells and kidney tissue.

VTTBNc is blended with two different acceptors, which are PCBM and PCBM, to offer further understanding in evaluating the performance in organic photodiode (OPD). The blend film of VTTBNc:PCBM with a volumetric ratio of 1:1 exhibits optimized performance in the VTTBNc blend structure with 2.

The effect of four different numbers of sandwiched strain-periodic AlN/GaN multilayers on the strain state, crystal quality, optical and electrical properties was investigated. Field emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy showed that the surface morphology was improved upon insertion of 120 pairs of AlN/GaN thin layers with a root-mean-square roughness of 2.

Its prevalence was 1% of all inguinal hernia in children. The clinical manifestation of Amyand's hernia was depending on hernia's stage, an incarcerated hernia will present with an inguinal mass following by pain and motility disorder.

Centrifuge has been used to infiltrate the PCPDTBT solution into the nanoporous alumina by varying the rotational speeds. The rotational speed of centrifuge is directly proportional to the infiltration force that penetrates into the nanochannels of the template.

VOPcPhO is a p-type material and PC71BM is an n-type material which acts as an electron donor and electron acceptor, respectively. Both materials have been studied due to their potential applications as solar energy converter and organic electronics.

PCDTBT nanotubes were successfully grown by immersing the porous alumina template into 15 mg/ml of solution concentration for 2- and 24-h periods and annealed at 50°C. Changes in morphological and optical properties between nanotubes of different infiltration times (2 and 24 h) as well as its thin films are observed.

The morphological, structural, and optical properties of PFO-DBT nanorod bundles are enhanced by varying the spin coating rate (100, 500, and 1,000 rpm) of the common spin coater. The denser morphological distributions of PFO-DBT nanorod bundles are favorably yielded at the low spin coating rate of 100 rpm, while at high spin coating rate, it is shown otherwise.

Sepiapterin reductase from Chlorobium tepidum (cSR) catalyzes the synthesis of a distinct tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), L-threo-BH4, different from the mammalian enzyme product. The 3-D crystal structure of cSR has revealed that the product configuration is determined solely by the substrate binding mode within the well-conserved catalytic triads. In cSR, the sepiapterin is stacked between two aromatic side chains of Phe-99 and Trp-196 and rotated approximately 180 degrees C around the active site from the position in mouse sepiapterin reductase.

Sepiapterin reductase from Chlorobium tepidum (CT-SR) produces L-threo-tetrahydrobiopterin, an isomer of tetrahydrobiopterin, in the last step of de novo synthesis initiating from GTP. Native CT-SR and a selenomethionine (SeMet) derivative of CT-SR have been crystallized by the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion method using PEG 400 as precipitant. CT-SR crystals belong to space group R32, with unit-cell parameters a = b = 201.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFSepiapterin reductase (SR) is involved in the last step of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH(4)) biosynthesis by reducing the di-keto group of 6-pyruvoyl tetrahydropterin. Chlorobium tepidum SR (cSR) generates a distinct BH(4) product, L-threo-BH(4) (6R-(1'S,2'S)-5,6,7,8-BH(4)), whereas animal enzymes produce L-erythro-BH(4) (6R-(1'R,2'S)-5,6,7,8-BH(4)) although it has high amino acid sequence similarities to the other animal enzymes. To elucidate the structural basis for the different reaction stereospecificities, we have determined the three-dimensional structures of cSR alone and complexed with NADP and sepiapterin at 2.
