Atrial Septal Defect closure in childhood and early adulthood has a good prognosis, but in older individuals the risk-benefit ratio is not as straightforward. We report a 57-year-old man who was easily fatigued when exercising. The cardiac examination revealed a wide and fixed splitting of S2, a pulmonary ejection systolic murmur grade III/VI, and increased jugular venous pressure.

An imbalance in the oxygen supply causes the excessive release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which results in increased ventilation requirements and the risk of death in COVID-19 patients. We evaluated the association between the hs-troponin I levels and global longitudinal strain (GLS) as evidence of myocardial involvement among critical COVID-19 patients.

Genetic roles such as gene polymorphisms may relate to the etiology of PPCM. This study analyzes the association between single nucleotide gene polymorphism (SNP) guanine nucleotide-binding protein beta-3 subunit () C825T and insertion/deletion (I/D) of the angiotensin-converting enzyme () gene with the incidence of PPCM.

In this work, the pyrolysis of unsaturated fatty acid (UFA) basic soaps was studied for the production sustainable diesel (bio-hydrocarbons). UFAs were obtained from palm fatty acids distillate (PFAD), which was purified by the fractional crystallization method.

In this research, the process mentioned was applied using the mixture of Ca, Mg, Zn in the production of oleic basic soap. The reactions were carried out in a batch glass reactor at atmospheric pressure at the temperature of 450 °C.

Preliminary studies have provided evidence that cardiac involvement, including right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) and pulmonary hypertension (PH), were found in COVID-19 cases, even in the non-advanced stage.

This study aims at investigating the adsorption and C-O bonds cleavage of methyl butanoate (MB) over MoS-based catalyst with various loads of Ni promoters by using first-principles density functional theory (DFT). This study employs surface model that never been used by previous researchers for their investigations of adsorption and bonds cleavage on Ni promoted MoS-based catalysts.

Herein, we propose a post-synthetic desilication treatment that is controllable with an aim to preserve the high crystallinity of SSZ-13 zeolite during the formation of mesopores. The extent of desilication in alkaline media is controlled by deliberately leaving the organics within SSZ-13 frameworks as they can effectively hinder the attack of hydroxyl ions on siloxane bonds.
