Introduction: Combined oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) deficiency 44 (COXPD44; MIM# 618855) is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in FAS-activated serine-threonine kinase domain 2 (FASTKD2) (MIM# 612322). COXPD44 is characterized by variable clinical features-developmental delay, chronic epileptic encephalopathy, seizure disorder/status epilepticus and cerebellar ataxia. Cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein (RNP) granules are membraneless structures composed of various RNAs and proteins that play important roles in post-transcriptional regulation. While RNP granules are known to regulate the meiotic entry in some organisms, little is known about their roles in plants. In this study, we observed the cytoplasmic granular structures of rice RNA-binding protein MEIOSIS ARRESTED AT LEPTOTENE2 (MEL2), which contributes to the control of meiotic entry timing, in leaf protoplasts and spore mother cells.

Association of interleukin 6 and uric acid levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) coupled with hypertension (HTN) are leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Association of Interleukin 6 and uric acid levels can be used for early detection of CAD in patients with T2DM. This cross sectional study included 120 study participants, were sub grouped into three Group 1: controls (n=30), Group 2: CAD, HTN without T2DM (n=30) and Group 3: CAD, HTN with T2DM (n=30).
