Background: Despite the increasing integration of competency-based education in medicine, there remains a significant gap in effectively assessing educational outcomes, underscoring the urgent need for designed assessment blueprints that accurately reflect both curriculum content and competency standards in Community Medicine for undergraduate students. This study, conducted across the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) network, develops a summative assessment blueprint aimed at standardizing evaluations in medical education across diverse geographic locations in India.
Methods: Twenty-five experts from 10 All India Institutes of Medical Science were invited via email and contributed for summative assessment for a theory paper.
Olfactory pathway and limbic system demonstrate a close nexus, which paves common ground for investigating the effects of smell on emotions, cognitive load and autonomic functions. Notably, olfactory stimulation during the administration of cognitive load may interfere with the performance. The study is planned to investigate the effect of citrus inhalation on cognitive performance, through psychophysiological assessments.

An efficient obstetric referral system is thus necessitated for improving maternal health. Referral practices have not been optimized effectively till date, owing to paucity of a detailed profile of referred women and indigenous barriers encountered during implementation process.

In this work, we have analyzed the conservation of amino acids that are present in the lipid-water-interface (LWI) region of TRPM8, the region which experiences a microenvironment near the membrane surface. We demonstrate that the amino acids present in the LWI region are more conserved than the transmembrane or even full-length TRPM8, suggesting strong selection pressure in these residues.

In Arabidopsis, POPEYE (PYE), a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor (TF), has been shown to play a crucial role in regulating this balance. In recent years, the mechanisms regulating Fe uptake have been well established but the upstream transcriptional regulators of Fe transport and storage are still poorly understood.

Background: Radiation has a huge impact on wound healing with progressive and irreversible impairment at the cellular level, making it very challenging for surgeons in terms of wound healing after salvage surgery in previously radiated patients. CO LASER helps in wound healing by its combined effect yielding a better result. Our study aims to retrospectively evaluate the healing outcome in a series of patients post-radiation, diagnosed with head and neck neoplasm recurrence, undergoing CO LASER treatment for non-healing surgical wounds, post salvage surgery having a previous history of radiotherapy in Head and Neck cancers.

Using a variety of analytical techniques, including Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA), external Particle-induced Gamma-ray Emission (PIGE) an Ion beam analysis Technique, and energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF), we delved into soil characterization for 22 agricultural soil samples in the Punjab region. Within the NAA framework, utilizing the Pneumatic Carrier Facility and the self-serve facility at Dhruva reactor in Mumbai, a brief 1-min irradiation procedure identified pivotal elements-Na, Mg, V, Al, Mn, and K.

In this work, we used BV2, a microglial cell line, and a series of thermo-sensitive subcellular organelle-specific probes to analyze the relative changes in the spatio-temporal temperatures of different subcellular organelles, both qualitatively and quantitatively. These methodologies allowed us to understand the thermal relationship of different subcellular organelles also.

Waterlogging notably hampers plant growth in areas facing waterlogged soil conditions. In our previous findings, Mentha arvensis was shown to adapt better in waterlogging conditions by initiating the early onset of adventitious root development.

One route for organelle communication is via membrane contact sites, functional appositions formed by molecular tethers. We describe a novel nuclear-mitochondrial membrane contact site in the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii.

Background: Recognizing the potential of the immune system, immunotherapies have brought about a revolution in the treatment of cancer. Low tumour mutational burden and strong immunosuppression in the peritoneal tumor microenvironment (TME) lead to poor outcomes of immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) and CART cell therapy in ovarian cancer. Alternative immunotherapeutic strategies are of utmost importance to achieve sound clinical success.

The aim of our study was to retrospectively assess the spectrum and frequency of ophthalmic involvement in patients presenting with malar fracture, and the need for referral to an ophthalmologist for evaluation. In total, 102 patients presenting with malar fracture between January 2008 and August 2017 at Bapuji Dental College and Hospital, Davangere, Karnataka were enrolled in this study.

Responsible for the circadian rhythm and seasonal behaviour of vertebrates and mammals, melatonin is responsible for regulating various physiological conditions and the maintenance of sleep, body weight and the neuronal activities of the ocular sites. With its unique amphiphilic structure, melatonin can cross the cellular barriers and elucidate its activities in the subcellular components, including mitochondria.

LR-115 Solid State Nuclear Track Detector (SSNTD) is commonly utilized for quantifying indoor radon-thoron levels, by tallying the tracks formed in the films by exposure to these gases. Conventionally, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is used to etch LR-115 films for 90 min at 60°C. However, this study suggests a time-efficient alternative approach utilizing potassium hydroxide (KOH) as the etchant.
