Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a glucose metabolism disorder with an unclear etiology that occurs specifically during pregnancy. While elevated serum ferritin levels have been reported to increase the risk of GDM, these findings lack validation in large-scale studies and have yet to inform clinical practice effectively. This study enrolled 12,434 controls and 3599 GDM patients and employed binary multifactorial logistic regression, restricted cubic spline, propensity score matching, and a random forest algorithm to explore the relationship between serum ferritin and GDM, as well as the effect size of ferritin on GDM.

Post-stroke cognitive impairment is one of the most common consequences of stroke, affecting more than half of stroke patients, especially in the geriatric population. Post-ischemic stroke cognitive impairment (PISCI) is particularly detrimental, as it can exacerbate a patient's disability. Given that the severe consequences of adverse life outcomes are major contributors to disability and death among survivors of ischemic stroke, preventing stroke and PISCI remains a fundamental strategy for maintaining optimal brain health.

Serum amyloid A (SAA) is a key biomarker for diagnosing inflammatory responses in diseases like influenza and COVID-19. An electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor has been constructed for signal enhancement in SAA detection by encapsulating 4,4',4″,4‴-(1,3,6,8-pyrenetetrayl) tetrakis-benzoic acid (TBAPy) into liposomes. Such biomimetic encapsulation shields the biologically important membrane to avoid aggregation of TBAPy and prevents quenching.
