Objective: Post-surgical lip symmetry assessment is a key indicator of cleft repair success. Traditional methods rely on distances between anatomical landmarks, which are impractical for video analysis and overlook texture and appearance. We propose an artificial intelligence (AI) approach to automate this process, analyzing lateral lip morphology for a quantitative symmetry evaluation.

Background: Iron deficiency (ID) is currently defined as a serum ferritin level <100 or 100 to 299 ng/mL with transferrin saturation (TSAT) <20%. We present a case of a 52-year-old male with no known past medical history who presented to an outside hospital with acute chest pain. Initial workup revealed anteroseptal ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) for which the patient was transferred to our facility for emergent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, the patient's hospital course revealed numerous confounding pathologies that can also present as STEMI, including transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) abnormalities consistent with takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) as well as myocardial bridging presenting as post-PCI STEMI in the setting of nitroglycerin use.

Extensive Deep Vein Thrombosis in a Young Man Taking Tirzepatide for Weight Loss.

Background/objective: Obesity and rapid weight loss are risk factors for developing deep vein thromboses (DVTs). Our aims were to present a patient who developed extensive DVT after relatively rapid and severe weight loss that followed taking tirzepatide and to raise the awareness among health care professionals regarding the risk of DVT that can be associated with significant weight loss due to these agents.

Case Report: We present the case of a 20-year-old young man, with raised body mass index of >35 kg/m, who was initiated on tirzepatide treatment for weight loss, with 12-kg weight lost over 6 weeks.
