While CBT is an effective treatment for depression, uptake can be low. This is largely due to attitudinal barriers. Accordingly, the goals of the current investigation were to (a) tailor and develop persuasive psychoeducational materials to match dominant cultural beliefs about the causes of depression and (b) examine the effectiveness of tailored CBT descriptions in improving CBT perceptions.

Dispositional mindfulness (DM) and self-compassion (SC) have consistently been associated with psychological disorder symptoms and appear to buffer the effects of stress on depression and anxiety.
Methods: Across two studies ( = 888), we examined direct and indirect (moderation) relationships of DM, SC, COVID-19-related stress, and symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Most transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) trials of schizophrenia administer few sessions and do not assess transfer effects to other cognitive domains. In a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled, parallel groups trial, we determined the extent to which 4-weeks of 2 mA tDCS at 20 min/day totalling 20 tDCS sessions administered during a spatial working memory test, with anodal right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and cathodal left tempo-parietal junction (TPJ) placement, as an adjunct to antipsychotics reduced auditory hallucinations and improved cognition in 12 outpatients with schizophrenia. Anodal tDCS significantly improved language-based working memory after 2 weeks and verbal fluency after 2 and 4 weeks.

Rats were injected with alloxan monohydrate (20 mg/100 g body wt) or vehicle (Na-acetate buffer), the former were treated with either 2 IU insulin i.p.

The results showed that the activity and mRNA levels of arginase were increased significantly in the diabetic condition. Vanadate treatment reversed the increased activity and restored mRNA levels of arginase almost to the control values.

In breast cancer cells, the effects of retinoids are associated with changes in the cadherin-beta-catenin adhesion and signaling system [2] [3]. beta-catenin is a component of the Wnt signaling pathway, which regulates several developmental pathways [4].

This work was carried out to study the modulation of arginase expression in experimental diabetes. Here, we have demonstrated that liver arginase activity and mRNA levels increased significantly in diabetic condition. Insulin treatment reverses the increased activity and mRNA levels nearly to the control values.

When mice were exposed intranasally to the fungi only once, no induction of iNOS mRNA was observed. However, when the animals were infected again 6 days after the first exposure, iNOS mRNA was induced, reached a maximum 12-24 h after the exposure, and decreased to an undetectable level at 48 h.

Arginase I is markedly induced in rat peritoneal macrophages and rat tissues in vivo by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In contrast, both arginase I and arginase II are induced in LPS-activated mouse peritoneal macrophages.

An enhancement in the activities of these enzymes were noted in both the fractions of diabetic kidney. Vanadate treatment (0.
