Bismuth-based photocatalysts proved to have remarkable photoactivity for antibiotic degradation from water. However, the two significant challenges of bismuth-based photocatalysts are the fast charge recombination rate and higher energy band gap. This study successfully synthesised a novel I-Bi/BiWO/MWCNTs (C-WBI) heterostructure composite photocatalysts with shorter energy band-gap and higher charge production capability through interfacial amidation linkage.

Protocol of health screening related to occupational diseases in 100 000 workers in critical sectors: a cross-sectional study with worksite risk assessment.

Background: Occupational diseases are one of the most important health problems related to employment However, in Malaysia, there are few epidemiological studies discussing these issues, especially among workers in the industry. For that, this study aimed to screen workers from high-risk industrial sectors, identify hazards in the workplace and recommend improvement measures in the workplace to prevent occupational diseases.

Methods And Analysis: This is a 3-year project in which a survey of 100 000 workers from all 13 states in Malaysia will be conducted using a web-based screening tool that is comprised of two parts: occupational disease screening tool and hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control method.

Expression of MAGE A1 to MAGE A10 in the Forceps Biopsy and Bronchoalveolar Lavage Specimens from Patients with the Central Lung Tumor.

Objective: The objective was to evaluate the expression of the MAGE A subtypes family in the central lung tumor patients from the forceps biopsy (FB) and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) specimens and to analyze its association with the histopathological examination.

Methods: An observational study was conducted on 32 FB and 43 BAL specimens from patients with central lung tumors. All samples were assessed for glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) expression by reverse transcription (RT) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and samples showing a positive result were examined for MAGE A subtypes family expression by nested-RT PCR.

Methods: A structured, systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines.

Laser wobble welding (oscillating laser beam) experiments were performed on high-strength micro-alloyed steels (HSLA) in both a low-carbon state (top plate) and carburized state (lower plate) using various process parameters. The welds were characterized regarding microstructure and microhardness. The cross sections of the welds had a predominantly symmetric geometry and were free of defects.

Although these agents have proven efficacy and favorable side-effect profiles, non-thionamide alternatives are occasionally indicated in patients who are intolerant or unresponsive to thionamides alone. This review examines the available non-thionamide drug options for the control of Graves' hyperthyroidism and summarizes their clinical utility, efficacy, and limitations.

Data were collected using a cross-sectional time-lag approach with 2 phases; 367 students participated. The hypotheses were tested with a moderated mediation model.

The aims were to detect the presentation of HCMV in cholestatic infants and to evaluate the concordance, sensitivity, and specificity between serology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of HCMV from liver biopsy and urine specimens.

Methodology: A descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 35 cholestatic infants with ethical approval.

Background And Aims: Postoperative sore throat (POST) is an undesirable event reported in up to 62% of patients receiving general anaesthesia (GA). The incidence of POST following GA using a supraglottic airway device (SAD) is approximately 50%, with symptoms persisting up to 48 h. We examined the role of preoperative lozenges containing amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl alcohol (AMC/DCBA) with lignocaine (Strepsils Max Plus) in reducing the incidence and intensity of POST following GA using SAD.

Synthesis of N-acyl glycine surfactant from palm oil as green repellent and toxicant to termite (Microcerotermes diversus).

This study described for the first time, the synthesis of a greener, safer, and more effective termiticide using a bio-based surfactant, N-acyl glycine derived from palm oil for the control of Microcerotermes diversus. Laboratory findings showed that the highest repellent activity was observed in N-acyl glycine surfactant (83.33%) at 50 ppm.

Unlabelled: In this study, we describe the incidence and distribution of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia at district level and determine their correlation with absolute population and population density, before and during the period that the Delta variant was dominant in Malaysia.

Methods: Data on the number of locally transmitted COVID-19 cases in each of the 145 districts in Malaysia, between 20 September 2020 and 19 September 2021, were manually extracted from official reports. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases, population and population density of each district were described using choropleth maps.

Comparison of Solvent Casting and Spray Casting Method on Compounding of an Orally Disintegrating Film Containing Amlodipine Besylate.

The amlodipine besylate tablet is one of the most highly prescribed medicines to manage hypertension in the geriatric population. However, the difficulty of swallowing tablets due to problems like dysphagia, fear of choking, and odynophagia has been identified as one of the contributing factors to non-compliance among geriatrics. Due to the swallowing factor among geriatrics, this study was conducted to compare two compounding methods of orally disintegrating films, namely solvent casting and spray casting, to produce an orally disintegrating film containing amlodipine besylate.
