In this study, we grew CdSe core quantum dots (QDs) along with CdSe/ZnS/ZnS and CdSe/CdS/CdS core-multi-shell semiconductor QDs via successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction. The effects of the shell layers on the optical properties and exciton dynamics of the QDs were examined using steady-state and time-resolved measurements together with transient absorption (TA). The photoluminescence (PL) intensity and quantum yield (QY) of the synthesized QDs were enhanced by shell growth.

Four free base corroles, 1-4, AB, (where A = nitrophenyl, and B = pentafluorophenyl, 2, 6-difluoro, 3, 4, 5-trifluoro and 4-carboxymethylphenyl group) have been synthesized, characterized and demonstrated as excellent chemosensor for the detection of fluoride ions selectively in toluene solution. The reported corroles shows highest quantum yield in free base form of porphyrinoid systems so far. All these corrole, 1-4, have the excellent ability to sense fluoride ion.

In this paper, we have reported a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of uniform, highly conducting single or few layer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) on large scale. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) have been used for the confirmation of mono or few layered nature of the as-synthesized MoS2 sheets. As one of the three West African countries highly affected by the 2014-2015 Ebola virus disease (Ebola) epidemic, Liberia reported approximately 10,000 cases. The Ebola epidemic in Liberia was marked by intense urban transmission, multiple community outbreaks with source cases occurring in patients coming from the urban areas, and outbreaks in health care facilities (HCFs). The investigation was aimed at designing pH-sensitive, polymeric nanoparticles of curcumin, a natural anti-cancer agent, for the treatment of colon cancer. The objective was to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin, simultaneously reducing the required dose through selective targeting to colon.
