Prenatal stress is a risk factor for neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, how early stress modification of brain development contributes to this pathophysiology is poorly understood. Ventral forebrain regions such as dorsal striatum are of particular interest: dorsal striatum modulates movement and cognition, is altered in NDDs, and has a primarily GABAergic population.

Control of size, shape, and composition at the nanoscale is important in tuning the material's bulk properties. The grafting of NPs with polymers enables us to tune such bulk material properties at the nano level by controlling their assemblies, especially in solutions.

Aims: The SCOPE2 trial evaluates radiotherapy (RT) dose escalation for oesophageal cancer. We report findings from the accompanying RT quality assurance (RTQA) programme and identify recommendations for PROTIEUS, the next UK trial in oesophageal RT.
Maetrials And Methods: SCOPE2's RTQA programme consisted of a pre-accrual and on-trial component.
Phosphole and azaphosphole derivatives with triazole functionalities, [CH{1,2,3-NCCHC(PPh)}] (L1) and [CH{1,2,3-NC(Ph)C(PPh)}] (L2) were synthesized by reacting [(CH)(1,2,3-NC = CH--Br-CH)] and [(-Br-CH)(1,2,3-NC = CHCH)] with BuLi followed by the addition of dichlorophenylphosphine. The reactions of L1 and L2 with an excess of 30% HO afforded phosphole oxides [CH{1,2,3-NCCHC(P(O)Ph)}] (L1O) and [CH{1,2,3-NC(Ph)C(P(O)Ph)}] (L2O) as white crystalline solids. Stoichiometric reactions of L1 and L2 with [Ru(η--cymene)Cl] in CHCl yielded [RuCl(η--cymene)(L1-κ-)] (1) and [RuCl(η--cymene)(L2-κ-)] (2), respectively.

Objective: This study aims to identify diagnostic biomarkers by analyzing the methylome and metabolome in the Brodmann area 7 of postmortem brain tissues from DLB patients and control subjects using multiomics approaches.
malaria affects millions of people in certain regions of the world, with neurological involvement and/or cerebral malaria as potential manifestations. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) abnormalities have been well-documented in cerebral malaria. However, MRI abnormalities in non-cerebral malaria, especially in neurologically asymptomatic patients, are not well understood and have been less frequently reported, especially in non-endemic regions.

The pathogenesis of HS is not fully understood, but considering the key role played by the biological clock in the control of immune/inflammatory processes the derangement of circadian and ultradian pathways could be hypothesized.
Methods: We analyzed genome-wide DNA methylation patterns in peripheral blood from 24 HS cases and 24 controls using the Infinium HumanMethylation450 BeadChip array (Illumina), followed by bioinformatics and statistical analyses.
Purpose: To assess parental stress in newborns undergoing surgical care.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at a tertiary center. The study included all parents of newborns requiring surgery, admitted between July 2023 and June 2024.

Aims: To evaluate and compare the efficacy of manual toothbrush, audio-tactile performance (ATP) method, and musical toothbrush on plaque control and oral hygiene maintenance in visually impaired children.
Methods And Results: The current observational study included 60 visually impaired children aged 9-16 years who were randomly divided into 3 groups, each with 20 children receiving oral hygiene instructions in different modes: Group 1 (Control) manual toothbrush, Group 2 (ATP) audio-tactile performance method with a manual toothbrush, and Group 3 musical toothbrush. Both manual (groups 1 and 2) and musical toothbrushes (Group 3) were changed after 3 months for better efficiency.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma continues to have a poor prognosis, although recent advances in neoadjuvant treatments (NATs) have provided some hope. Imaging assessment of suspected tumours can be challenging and requires a specific approach, with pancreas protocol CT being the primary imaging modality for staging with other modalities used as problem-solving tools to facilitate appropriate management. Imaging assessment post NAT can be particularly difficult due to a current lack of robust radiological criteria to predict response and differentiate treatment induced fibrosis/inflammation from residual tumour.

The genetic determinants of HS have not been fully documented, but it is believed to result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Methods: To identify relevant HS gene variants in sporadic HS patients, this study utilized longitudinal electronic health records (EHRs) and whole-exome sequencing.
Protein folding is a complex process influenced by the primary sequence of amino acids. Early studies focused on understanding whether the specificity or the conservation of properties of amino acids was crucial for folding into secondary structures such as α-helices, β-sheets, turns, and coils. However, with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), the emphasis has shifted towards the precise nature and occurrence of specific amino acids.

Methods: Referral letters, n=1315, to a General Neurology New Patient Clinic from 2021-2023 were screened for terms 'dizziness', 'vertigo', 'unsteadiness' and 'vestibular'. A chart review was performed to establish study outcomes.
Background And Purpose: Tumours in the liver often develop on a background of liver cirrhosis and impaired liver function. As a result, radiotherapy treatments are limited by radiation-induced liver disease, parameterised by the liver mean dose (LMD). Liver function is highly heterogeneous, especially in liver cancer, but the use of LMD does not take this into account.

Dinanath grass (Pennisetum pedicellatum Trin.) is an extensively grown forage grass known for its significant drought resilience. In order to comprehensively grasp the adaptive mechanism of Dinanath grass in response to water deficient conditions, transcriptomic and metabolomics were applied in the leaves of Dinanath grass exposed to two distinct drought intensities (48-hour and 96-hour).

Methods: In stage 1, the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of nelfinavir concurrent with standard-dose CRT (50.4 Gy in 28 fractions) was identified from a cohort of 27 patients.
Motivation: Citations have a fundamental role in scholarly communication and assessment. Citation accuracy and transparency is crucial for the integrity of scientific evidence. In this work, we focus on quotation errors, errors in citation content that can distort the scientific evidence and that are hard to detect for humans.

It also utilises low-dose-rate ionising radiation (X-rays) as a source for imaging. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is an advanced system that uses iodinated contrast media for more accurate diagnostic results.
