Background: In the United States (US), transgender women of color experience cyclical, interlocking systems of structural and institutional oppression rooted in racism and transphobia, which fuel economic vulnerability. Together, cycles of intersecting racism, transphobia, and economic vulnerability create conditions that give rise to extreme HIV inequities among transgender women of color. Microeconomic interventions - designed to improve financial standing by increasing income generation and access to financial resources through entrepreneurship, cash transfers, and training - have the potential to address structural factors underlying HIV inequities.

Skilled home healthcare utilization and outcomes for older adults with dementia: A scoping review.

Objectives: This study aims to summarize the existing research literature examining Medicare-skilled home health (HH) utilization and clinical outcomes for persons with dementia (PwD). We sought to answer the following questions: (1) How is dementia defined and classified in the HH literature? (2) What associations have been observed between dementia status and patterns of HH utilization? (3) What associations have been observed between dementia status and HH outcomes?

Methods: Using Arksey and O'Malley's framework for scoping reviews, we searched PubMed, Google Scholar, and select relevant journals for quantitative studies conducted in the United States between 2000 and 2023 examining Medicare HH use and outcomes for PwD. We describe and compare approaches to classify dementia, identify findings related to HH utilization and outcomes supported by the preponderance of evidence, and comment on existing gaps and areas of ambiguity in the literature.

The study of fear extinction has been driven largely by Pavlovian fear conditioning methods across the translational spectrum. The primary methods used to study these processes in humans have been recordings of skin conductance (historically termed galvanic skin response) and fear-potentiation of the acoustic startle reflex. It is crucial that future physicians understand the nature of opioid use disorder (OUD). We designed a pilot Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) using simulated patients (SPs) experiencing OUD with concurrent chronic pain. The case was piloted in 2021 and 2022 during the multi-station OSCE that all the medical school clerkship students take at the end of their third year of medical school.

It was first conjectured by Dyson that the autocovariances of distant eigenlevels in the unfolded spectra of infinite-dimensional random matrices should exhibit a power-law decay δI_{k}^{j}≈-1/βπ^{2}k^{2}, where β is the symmetry index. In this Letter, we establish an exact link between the autocovariances of level spacings and their power spectrum, and show that, for β=2, the latter admits a representation in terms of a fifth Painlevé transcendent.

Research on child support compliance has focused on the characteristics of noncustodial parents (NCPs) that are associated with compliance, finding that compliance with child support orders is primarily related to the ability to pay support as demonstrated by earnings. Yet, there is evidence linking social support networks to both earnings and noncustodial parents' relationships with children. Using a social poverty framework, we show that relatively few NCPs are completely isolated: most have at least some people in their network who can loan money, provide a place to stay, or provide a ride.
