Background: COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes accounted for 30.2% of all COVID-19 deaths in the United States during the early weeks (1-January to 26-July, 2020) of the pandemic. This study presents the geographic diffusion of COVID-19 cases and deaths in nursing homes during this time period, while also providing explanation of regional risk factors.

Given the significant incidence of UP, identifying specific alterations in proteins present in the blood of UP patients could offer insights into the potential biological pathways associated with UP and facilitate the exploration of biomarkers. In this study, we employed LC-MS/MS-based data-independent acquisition (DIA) mode to analyze serum samples obtained from 54 UP patients categorized as DKD-UP, HN-UP, and GN-UP (n = 18 for each subgroup), along with 18 uremic patients without pruritus (Negative) and 18 CKD patients without pruritus (CKD).

This study aimed to identify new therapeutic targets and biomarkers for psoriasis and chronic ulcers by comparing their gene expression profiles. The gene expression profiles of psoriatic, wound and chronic ulcer patients, as well as healthy controls, were determined via RNA extraction and next-generation sequencing of biopsies.

It is essential to review the development process and hotspots of PM concentration prediction studies over the past 20 years (2000-2021) comprehensively and quantitatively. This study used detailed bibliometric methods and CiteSpace software to visually analyze the PM pollution level.

Can TCM treatment improve the exercise tolerance of patients with stable COPD? Can TCM treatment improve the quality of life of patients with stable COPD? Can TCM treatment delay the decline of lung function in patients with stable COPD? Can TCM treatment improve anxiety and depression in patients with stable COPD? Does the point application therapy benefit patients with stable COPD? Can non-pharmacological treatment benefit patients with stable COPD? Based on these eight clinical problems, the cha-racteristics of TCM itself, and actual clinical situation, the recommendations of TCM to treat the stable COPD were formed in this guideline, with intention to provide advice and guidance to clinicians in the use of TCM to treat stable COPD, to relieve symptoms, improve exercise tolerance, improve health status, prevent disease progression, prevent and treat exacerbations, and improve clinical efficacy. Due to the influence of the user's region, nationality, race and other factors, the implementation of this guideline should be based on the actual situations.

In this study, we observed cellular and molecular changes of different age mice and LPS-induced Parkinson disease (PD) model. The results showed that behavioral performance and dopaminergic (DA) neurons were declined, accompanied by increased expression of pro-inflammatory factors (TLR2, p-NF-kB-p65, IL-1β and TNF-α), as well as pro-oxidative stress factor gp91phox in aged mice compared with young mice.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the prevalence and distribution of teeth number and morphology abnormalities in Chinese pediatric patients' permanent teeth at the mixed dentition stage by performing panoramic radiographs analysis.
Methods: A total of 4 347 panoramic radiographs of pediatric patients aged 5 years to 15 years who were admitted to the hospitals from September 2011 to September 2013 were reviewed. The presence of teeth number and morphology abnormalities were recorded as follows: congenitally absent teeth, supernumerary teeth, odontoma, microdontia, fused teeth, dilaceations, and cusp deformity.
Objective: To explore the effects of microtubule depolymerization (MD) on the spontaneous beating rate, action potential (AP), and oxygen consumption of cardiac myocytes in rats and its mechanism.
Methods: One-hundred and eighty neonatal SD rats divided into 12 batches were used in the experiment, and 15 rats in each batch were sacrificed for the isolation and culture of cardiac myocytes after the heart tissues were harvested. The cardiac myocytes were respectively inoculated in one 12-well plate filled with 6 round cover slips, one 12-well plate filled with 6 square cover slips, two cell culture flasks, and two cell culture dishes.

Introduction: As water transporters, aquaporins (AQPs) are closely related to other membrane transporters, and water permeability in cell may contribute to chemosensitivity of tumor. To understand the correlation between AQPs and cisplatin (DDP) sensitivity to ovarian cancer cells, effects of DDP on AQPs expression were detected in vitro, and chemosensitivity of DDP was observed in hypertoncity in vitro.
Methods: SKOV3 cells were incubated with DDP, aquaporins blocker mercuric chloride, or in hypertonicity, and cell proliferation inbihition was measured by MTT.
Objective: To investigate whether bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) treatment could improve the regeneration of endometrium and improve the endometrial receptivity in an experimental model of thin endometrium.
Design: Randomized, control trial, animal research.

Seawater flue gas desulfurization (Seawater FGD) process has a number of advantages, but the study on mechanism of seawater FGD is little. The effects of absorbing efficiency of SO2 by the constant component and part of trace transition elements in seawater are studied by the experiment. The results indicate that the effect factors of absorption of SO% by seawater are alkaline, ion intensity, catalysis of Cl- and transition metal ions Fe2+ Mn(2+).
