Purpose: Utilizing Swept source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) investigates the changes in the vascular characteristics of the choriocapillaris and larger vascular layers, including Sattler's and Haller's layers, in the macular region of young myopia patients, in order to to Enhance our comprehension of the underlying mechanisms of the pathogenesis of myopia.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 103 young adults (154 eyes) that underwent SS-OCTA. Axial lengths (AL) were measured, 64 eyes with AL < 26.
Objective: To systematically evaluate the efficacy of scraping therapy on knee osteoarthritis (KOA).

This research examines internet collective behavior in mainland China during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the factors and characteristics that drive such behavior. The Chinese government initially implemented a conservative and biased policy to contain the spread of the virus, but the sudden lifting of lockdown measures in late 2022 resulted in a surge in infections and scarcity of medical resources. This policy shift led many Chinese internet users to perceive the government's actions as hasty and harsh, prompting them to engage in collective online behavior.

Activated carbon can be a supporting material for electrocatalysts because of its large specific surface area and porosity. However, activated carbon has low catalytic activity and needs to be functionalized with heteroatoms, metals, and combinations to improve conductivity and catalytic activity.

Methods: A comprehensive search of the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Ovid, Embase, and Web of Science databases was conducted to screen randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials related to adjuvant therapy in patients with low-grade gliomas. The Cochrane quality assessment method and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale were used to assess the quality of the included randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials, respectively.
Herein, the effect of Fushun oil shale minerals on its kerogen has been investigated. The samples were obtained under non-isothermal conditions at different final temperatures. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis revealed that the silicates were layered and the carbonates were tightly bound to each other.

After a comprehensive search of the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, VIP information database, Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM), PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library database from the database establishment 31 December 2021, data extraction and quality assessment were conducted for the included articles. The primary outcome measure was the effectiveness after treatment.

Methods: Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) was used to induce rat models of pubertal PCOS.
Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is an increasing public health concern. Currently, data regarding the clinical application value of plasma Galectin-3 (Gal-3) in HFpEF are contradictory. Therefore, we performed the following meta-analysis to appraise the clinical implications of serum Gal-3 in HFpEF, including its capacity to predict new-onset disease, long-term unfavorable endpoints, and the degree of cardiac structural abnormality and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD).

Objective: We explored the efficacy and safety of different drug treatments in patients with spinal-cord injury (SCI)-related neuropathic pain. We investigated which treatment is most suitable for such patients by judging the efficacy and safety of these drugs.
Background: Despite the fact that bevacizumab (Bev) has been approved to treat recurrent glioblastoma, patients have failed to demonstrate a significant overall survival (OS) advantage. In recent years, the advent of more Bev combination regimens seems to bring new hope for patients; nevertheless, there is still a lack of intuitive comparison among these therapies.
Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of various Bev combination regimens in patients with recurrent glioblastoma and to further explore the differences in the efficacy of each treatment in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and nonrandomized controlled trials (non-RCTs).
The ultrasonic testing method is a well-known non-destructive testing technique which has been applied to the tube inspection for guarantying the quality of the production. However, there exist several challenges to detect the defects of tubes with small diameter and thin-wall due to the complex of multiple reflections and waveform conversion. Parameters selection of the transducer takes key role to enhance the detection sensitivity such as frequency, size, refraction angle, distance offset, and focal point distance.

Currently available methods for the growth of mesoporous TiO sub-microspheres involve long and relatively high temperature multi-stage protocols. In this work, TiO mesoporous sub-microspheres composed of ~5 nm anatase nanocrystallites were successfully synthesized using a rapid one-pot room-temperature CTAB-based solvothermal synthesis.

Shuxuetong (SXT) injection was reported to have good therapeutic effects in the clinic; therefore, it was selected as a drug intervention method for cerebral ischemia repair in rat models. The aim of this study was to understand the features of molecules and pathways and to reveal key processes of SXT repair.

The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family is a series of important cancer therapeutic targets involved in cancer biology. These genes play an important role in tumor biological characteristics including angiogenesis, cell survival, invasion and glucose metabolism. In recent years, progress has been achieved on the cellular and molecular biological characteristics of EGFR and its role in cancer development based on the study of tumor specimens and experimental animal model.

Background: Ordinal severity scales illustrated by photographs have been widely developed to help dermatologists in evaluating skin problems or improvements. Numerous scales have been published, and none of them were used for assessing facial pores.
Methods: A five-point photographic scale of facial pores was formulated, and photographs of pores on nasal ala from 128 female volunteers were acquired.
Background: To develop a novel method for molecular detection of deafness-associated mitochondrial A1555G and C1494T mutations.
Methods: We designed four primers that specifically bind to human mitochondrial 12S rRNA. PCR amplification of DNA samples including the A1555G, C1494T, and healthy controls is performed.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to obtain reference values for the sizes of the semicircular canals (SCCs) on multidetector computed tomographic (CT) images in different age groups.
Methods: Computed tomographic images of the temporal bone of 210 patients, a total of 420 ears without inner ear pathology, have been evaluated. These patients were divided into 4 groups by age: young children (<7 years), older children and adolescents (8-17 years), adults (18-59 years), and the elderly patients (>60 years).
To evaluate the feasibility and advantages of constructing a novel tissue engineering bone, using β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and rat adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), modified with BMP2 and BMP7 by lentivirus. In the present study, ADSCs transfected with Lv-BMP2 and Lv-BMP7, alone or together, were seeded on β-TCP scaffold and cultured in vitro. Based on the results of DNA assay, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, alizarin red staining and osteogenic marker genes expression analysis, the BMP2 and BMP7 genes cotransfection group exhibited a higher degree of osteogenic differentiation in vitro.
