We show that the MOF NU-111 exhibits equally high volumetric and gravimetric methane uptake values, both within ≈75% of the DOE targets at 300 K. Upon reducing the temperature to 270 K, the uptake increases to 0.5 g g(-1) and 284 cc(STP) per cc at 65 bar.

The mortality is high mainly due to the lack of known effective screening procedures; there is a high tendency for early spread and systemic therapies do not cure metastatic disease. Thus, it is important to investigate the molecular mechanism(s) of lung cancer development and, specifically, to identify an effective method by which to inhibit the invasion and metastasis of lung cancer.

The first ring around the core is filled with liquid of higher refractive index than the matrix, while the outer rings of holes are filled with air. The bandgap (BG)-like effect of the high refractive index ring is analyzed.

The title compound, a Ga(II) dimer, [Ga(2)Br(4)(C(12)H(23)P)(2)], was synthesized by reaction of GaBr(THF)(n) (THF is tetra-hydro-furan) with dicyclo-hexyl-phosphine in toluene. At 150 K the crystallographically centrosymmetric molecule exhibits disorder in which one of the two independent cyclo-hexyl groups is modelled over two sites in a 62 (1):38 (1) ratio. In d(6)-benzene solution, the compound exhibits virtual C(2h) symmetry as determined by (1)H NMR.

Within the PCF, to enhance the sensitivity of the sensor, the air holes of the second layer are filled with a large thermo-optic coefficient liquid and some of those air holes are selectively coated with metal. Temperature variations will induce changes of coupling efficiencies between the fundamental core mode and the plasmonic mode, thus leading to different loss spectra that will be recorded.

Objective: To evaluate whether garlicin can attenuate reperfusion no-reflow in a catheter-based porcine model of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
Methods: Twenty-two swine were used: six in a sham-operation group, and eight each in the control and garlicin groups. The distal part of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) in the latter two groups was occluded by a dilated balloon for 2 hr, then reperfused for 3 hr.

Tumors originating from the muscularis propria layer of esophagus are usually removed by thoracoscopic resection. With the introduction of new endoscopic therapeutic techniques, some of these tumors could be treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). However, the above endoscopic methods are associated with a high risk of perforation and it is hard to close the perforation through the endoscopy.

Objective: To investigate whether Astragaloside IV(AST) protects H9c2 cells against H2O2-induced oxidative injury partly through ERK1/2 signaling pathway.
Methods: H9c2 cells oxidative injury was induced by 200 tmol/L H2O2 for 6 hours to establish the H2O2-induced injury model of H9c2 cells. The viability of H9c2 cells was detected using MTf method.
By determination of the number of absorptive chemical components (ACCs) in mixtures using median absolute deviation (MAD) analysis and extraction of spectral profiles of ACCs using kernel independent component analysis (KICA), an adaptive KICA (AKICA) algorithm was proposed. The proposed AKICA algorithm was used to characterize the procedure for processing prepared rhubarb roots by resolution of the measured mixed raw UV spectra of the rhubarb samples that were collected at different steaming intervals. The results show that the spectral features of ACCs in the mixtures can be directly estimated without chemical and physical pre-separation and other prior information.

The extracts were then baked and their attenuated total reflectance (ATR) FTIR spectra were measured using liquid membrane method. The number of chemical components of the additives was determined by median absolute deviation (MAD), and the spectral information of the pure component was extracted by kernel independent component analysis (KICA).

Methods: A total of 200 senile knee OA outpatients (who signed an informed consent) were randomized into treatment group and control group (n = 100/group) according to a random number table and their visiting sequence. The growing field of miniaturized diagnostics is hindered by a lack of pre-analysis treatments that are capable of processing small sample volumes for the detection of low concentration analytes in a high-throughput manner. This letter presents a novel, highly efficient method for the extraction of low-molecular weight (LMW) proteins from biological fluids, represented by a mixture of standard proteins, using integrated microfluidic systems. We bound a polydimethylsiloxane layer patterned with a microfluidic channel onto a well-defined nanoporous silica substrate.

Calcination in oxygen plasma provides superior control over pore formation with regard to the pore surface and higher fidelity to the structure of the polymer template. The resulting porous film offers an ideal substrate for the selective partitioning of peptides from complex mixtures.

Methods: In January 2010, a randomized serologic survey of pandemic influenza A (H1N1 2009) was carried out. Six districts that were randomly selected with a total of 4601 participants involved in the survey have their antibody level tested by hemagglutination inhibition assay.
The synthesis and characterization of the series of organotin formates together with their thermolytic behavior are described. The diformate Bu(n)(2)Sn{OC(O)H}(2) (1) was synthesized by the reaction of Bu(n)(2)SnH(2) with formic acid. The triorganotin monoformate compounds R(3)SnOC(O)H (R = Cy (cyclohexyl)) 3, Mes, (mesityl, 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl) 4, and Dmp (2,6-dimethylphenyl 5) were obtained by the reaction of R(3)SnOH with formic acid.

CD44-hyaluronic acid interactions can be exploited for targeted delivery of anticancer agents specifically to cancer cells. Although various splicing variants of CD44 are expressed on the plasma membrane of cancer cells, the hyaluronic acid binding domain (HABD) is highly conserved among the CD44 splicing variants.
