In vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), the security and privacy of vehicle data are core issues. In order to analyze vehicle data, they need to be computed. Encryption is a common method to guarantee the security of vehicle data in the process of data dissemination and computation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA magnetically-quiet environment is important for detecting faint magnetic-field signals or nonmagnetic spin-dependent interactions. Passive magnetic shielding using layers of large magnetic-permeability materials is widely used to reduce the magnetic-field noise. The magnetic-field noise can also be actively monitored with magnetometers and then compensated, acting as a complementary method to the passive shielding.

Small noncoding RNAs play critical roles in plant growth, development, and stress responses by regulating target gene expression, but their roles in drought stress tolerance in apple () are poorly understood. Here, we identified various small noncoding RNAs and their targets from the wild apple species via high-throughput sequencing and degradome analysis.

Understanding the relationship between brain activity and specific mental function is important for medical diagnosis of brain symptoms, such as epilepsy. Magnetoencephalography (MEG), which uses an array of high-sensitivity magnetometers to record magnetic field signals generated from neural currents occurring naturally in the brain, is a noninvasive method for locating the brain activities. The MEG is normally performed in a magnetically shielded room.

Despite some debate, the SMH has provided not only a neurobiological framework for understanding emotion and decision-making but also a good empirical support for ecological rationality and embodied emotion. Unlike the traditional maximizing rationality and bounded satisficing rationality, the ecological rationality stresses that emotions should be brought to the decision-making process.

The sinusoidal distribution of the radiance in the structured-light field can be processed and transformed to compute the angular variance of the local radiance difference. The angular variance across the depth range exhibits a single-peak distribution trend that can be used to obtain the unambiguous depth.

It has been increasingly recognized that accelerated atherosclerosis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, a multisystem autoimmune disease. In this study, we investigated the anti-apoptotic effects of heat-killed Lactobacillus reuteri GMNL-263 on the cardiac tissue of NZB/W F1 mice. The myocardial architecture of the mice heart was observed and evaluated using different staining techniques such as hematoxylin and eosin, TUNEL assay, Masson's trichrome, and fluorescent immunohistochemistry.

Although preliminary clinical studies on PUL are increasing, the long-term efficacy and safety of this procedure are still not well evaluated.
Objective: The objective of our study is to synthesize the existing literature evidence, and make a comprehensive and long-term systematic review for the PUL procedure.
The comagnetometer has been one of the most sensitive devices with which to test new physics related to spin-dependent interactions, but the comagnetometers based on overlapping ensembles of multiple spin species usually suffer from systematic errors due to magnetic field gradients. Here, we propose a comagnetometer based on the Zeeman transitions of the dual hyperfine levels in ground-state ^{87}Rb atoms, which shows nearly negligible sensitivity to variations of laser power and frequency, magnetic field, and magnetic field gradients. We measured the hypothetical spin-dependent gravitational energy of the proton with the comagnetometer, which is smaller than 4×10^{-18}  eV, comparable to the most stringent existing constraint.

Although it is effective to improve the cycling performance of LiCoO via coating individual LiCoO particles with another metal oxides or fluorides, the rate capacity is generally compromised because the typical coating materials are poor conductors. Herein, amorphous LiLaTiO, one of the most successful solid electrolytes, was directly deposited on the surface of made-up LiCoO electrodes through magnetron sputtering.

This device has the advantage of the fast response of the self-oscillating magnetometer and is not affected by the systematic errors originated from the radio-frequency field. It is also free from the nonlinear Zeeman effect in large magnetic fields.

Objective: Despite the current antiatherosclerotic and antithrombotic therapies, the incidence of advanced atherosclerosis-associated clinical events remains high. Whether long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) affect the progression of atherosclerosis and whether they are potential targets for the treatment of advanced atherosclerosis are poorly understood. Approach and Results: The progression of atherosclerotic lesions was accompanied by dynamic alterations in lncRNA expression, as revealed by RNA sequencing and quantitative polymerase chain reaction.

Both rosiglitazone and metformin have effects on blood glucose regulation and the proliferation of liver cancer cells. Combination therapy with these two drugs is common and effective for the treatment of diabetes in the clinic, however, the application of these two drugs is influenced by the poor dissolution of rosiglitazone and the gastrointestinal side-effect of metformin resulting from a high solubility. The formation of a multidrug crystal form (Rsg-Met) by a solvent evaporation method can solve the solubility issue.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFLight-field imaging can simultaneously record spatio-angular information of light rays to carry out depth estimation via depth cues which reflect a coupling of the angular information and the scene depth. However, the unavoidable imaging distortion in a light-field imaging system has a side effect on the spatio-angular coordinate computation, leading to incorrectly estimated depth maps. Based on the previously established unfocused plenoptic metric model, this paper reports a study on the effect of the plenoptic imaging distortion on the light-field depth estimation.

For the convenient introduction of simple linear/branched alkyl groups into biologically important azaspirocyclohexadienones, a practical Fe-catalyzed decarbonylative cascade spiro-cyclization of N-aryl cinnamamides with aliphatic aldehydes to provide alkylated 1-azaspiro-cyclohexadienones was developed. Aliphatic aldehydes were oxidative decarbonylated into primary, secondary and tertiary alkyl radicals conveniently and allows for the subsequent cascade construction of dual C(sp)-C(sp) and C=O bonds via radical addition, spirocyclization and oxidation sequence.

With regards to the pancake bouncing behavior of a droplet, since the retraction process of the droplet is omitted, the contact time is greatly shortened compared to the normal type of bouncing. However, the quantitative prediction to the range of droplet pancake bouncing and the adjustment of pancake bouncing state have yet to be probed into.
