Doublecortin (DCX) is a microtubule-associated protein known to be a key regulator of neuronal migration and differentiation during brain development. However, the role of DCX, particularly in regulating the survival and growth of glioma cells, remains unclear. In this study, we utilized CRISPR/Cas9 technology to knock down DCX in the human glioma cell line (U251).

Methods: We established an intestinal epithelial crypt cell line-6 cell barrier injury model by using lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The model was then treated with p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase-myosin light chain kinase (p38MAPK-MLCK) pathway inhibitors, p38MAPK-MLCK pathway silencing genes (si-p38MAPK, si-NF-κB, and si-MLCK), and MPD respectively.
The feasibility of the conduction system pacing (CSP) upgrade as an alternative modality to the traditional biventricular pacing (BiVP) upgrade in patients with pacemaker-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM) remains uncertain. This study sought to compare two modalities of CSP (His bundle pacing (HBP) and left bundle branch pacing (LBBP)) with BiVP and no upgrades in patients with pacing-induced cardiomyopathy. This retrospective analysis comprised consecutive patients who underwent either BiVP or CSP upgrade for PICM at the cardiac department from 2017 to 2021.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive neuromodulatory technique that has recently been reported to regulate microglial functions and exert anti-inflammatory effects. The intermittent burst stimulation (iTBS) regimen in rTMS improves neuronal excitability.

Methods: Randomized 70 Sprague-Dawley rats into sham ( 10) and operation ( 60) groups, then established the HF rat by ligating the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery. We randomly divided the operation group rats into the model, ONSMP [including low (L), medium (M), and high (H) dose], and enalapril groups.
Background: To report a case of interface fluid syndrome (IFS) following traumatic corneal perforation repair after small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE).
Case Presentation: A 23-year-old woman, with a past history of SMILE, was struck in the left eye with a barbecue prod and subsequently underwent corneal perforation repair at local hospital. Primary wound repaired with a single 10 - 0 nylon suture at the area of leakage.
An ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was developed for simultaneous determination of 10 kinds of aminoglycosides in edible parts of aquatic products. The samples were extracted with 10 mmol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer solution, then the pH value of the extract was adjusted to neutral by sodium hydroxide. Half volume of the extract was loaded onto multiwalled carbon nanotubes cartridge.

The anesthetic sevoflurane (SEV) has been shown to protect against organ's injury during sepsis. The present study intended to uncover the protective effects of SEV on sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (SI-AKI) and its possible mechanism. Human renal tubular epithelial cell HK-2 was treated with 10 μg/mL lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to construct SI-AKI cell model.

We studied the impact of COVID-19 on patients with ovarian cancer by comprehensively analyzing their admissions before and after the epidemic, and made reasonable suggestions to improve their current situation.

Methods: We compared the 5-year risks of recurrent stroke and all-cause mortality for silent LACI vs symptomatic LACI in a prospective study of 489,597 Chinese adults with no history of stroke or ischemic heart disease at baseline. Data on recurrent stroke and all-cause mortality were obtained by linkage with local stroke and mortality registries and health insurance records for all hospital admissions.

Background: Local recurrence (LR) is associated with poor outcome in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC). The aim of this study was to explore potential risk factors for LR and build a predictive model.
Methods: The medical data of patients who were diagnosed with DTC after initial surgery in three medical centers (2000-2018) were reviewed.
Background: Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder, the major histologic subtype of bladder cancer, is increasing in incidence and mortality, which requires the identification of effective biomarkers. Actin-regulating proteins have recently been proposed as important antitumor druggable targets. As a gelsolin-family actin-modulating protein, CAPG (gelsolin-like actin-capping protein) generated great interest due to its crucial effects in various biological and physiological processes; however, the role and mechanism of CAPG in TCCs remain unknown.

The aim of this study is to find the relationship between ovarian cancer and diabetes mellitus by using the genetic screening technique. By GEO database query and related online tools of analysis, we analyzed 185 cases of ovarian cancer and 10 control samples from GSE26712, and a total of 379 different genes were identified, including 104 up-regulated genes and 275 down-regulated genes.

Methods: The LPS-PD model was established by injection of LPS (5 mg/mL, 2.0 μL) into the right substantia nigra compacta (SNC).
Purpose: To compare best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT) after 532-nm subthreshold laser grid photocoagulation and threshold laser grid photocoagulation for the treatment of diabetic macular oedema (DME).
Patients And Methods: Twenty-three patients (46 eyes) with binocular DME were enroled in this study. The two eyes of each patient were divided into a subthreshold photocoagulation group and a threshold photocoagulation group.

The objective of this study was to analyze the clinical manifestation, imaging characteristics, genotype, and the relationship between the three aforementioned parameters in two pedigrees suffering from spinocerebellar ataxia. To evaluate the clinical manifestation of the two pedigrees and to compare the characteristics, we performed the MRI analysis of some patients from both pedigrees, while 2 ml of the peripheral blood sample was collected for gene analysis. The gene analysis data showed that pedigree 1 was certified spinocerebellar ataxia type-2 (SCA2); the CAG repeats in the proband, proband's mother, and proband's brother were 44, 36, and 38, respectively.

The electrochemical performances of the sensor were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy using a Fe(CN)(6)(3-/4-) phosphate buffer solution as base solution for test. As new ionic liquid, 1-amyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, offers a very biocompatible microenvironment for AFB(1) antibody, the sensor exhibits good repeatability (RSD=1.

Administration of the drug at a high dose level (40 mg/kg) for 2 months may induce focal necrosis of liver cells, abnormal liver function, and acceleration of erythrocyte sedimentation rate. After the dogs had received tetrandrine for 6 months continuously, necrosis of liver tissue appeared.
