A large population in the world lives in tropical and subtropical regions, showing a high risk of Zika viral infection which leads to a situation of global health emergency and demands extensive research to create effective antiviral medicines. Herein, we introduce the design of a new derivatized trans-stilbene molecule to investigate the inhibition of Zika virus entry into the host cell by molecular docking approach. The synthesized compound has been characterized by different analytical techniques such as FTIR, H NMR,C NMR and UV-visible spectroscopy as well as Mass spectrometry (MS).

A piperazine- modified Schiff base sensor for highly selective detection of Zr (IV) ions: unveiling its antioxidant potential and regulatory effects on Zea mays growth.

Piperazine functionalized Schiff bases 4(a-c) were synthesized by a condensation reaction which were thoroughly characterized by using various spectroscopic techniques like H NMR, C NMR, IR and mass spectrometry. X-ray crystallography was used to analyse synthesized compound 4b. The sensing capability of 4b was investigated towards the tetravalent form of the zirconium ion among other metal ions.

Copper(II) Ion Promoted Reverse Solvatochromic Response of the Silatrane Probe to Spectral Shifts: Preferential Solvation and Computational Approach.

The unique solvatochromic attitude of an analyte owing to its coordination with metal ions in solvents of different polarities is challenging. Herein, we introduce two new solvatochromic 4-(pentan-3-yl) benzaldehyde-based triazolyl silatrane probes ( and ). The solvatochromic behavior of both probes and was studied using Reichardt's E (30) and the Kamlet-Taft empirical scale by UV-visible spectra in 14 solvents (hydrogen-bond donor (HBD) and non-HBD), and the results show that probes and exhibit reverse solvatochromism.

Sustainable groundwater treatment technologies for underserved rural communities in emerging economies.

Worldwide, about one out of two people depend on groundwater resources to satisfy their drinking water needs. While groundwater typically is of higher quality than surface water, pollution and geologic conditions may require treating groundwater to meet safe water quality criteria. Herein, a critical overview is presented of water treatment technologies for rural and underserved communities in emerging economies that depend on groundwater.

The formulated compound has been thoroughly characterized by elemental analysis, NMR (H and C) and complete structure elucidation was achieved via X-ray crystallography.

Clinicopathological features of hemophilia in a tertiary care centre of India.

Context: Inherited bleeding disorders are common in India and hemophila and von Willebrand diseases are the most common among them. These patients can present in any department including paediatrics, medicine, orthopaedics and even gynaecology so knowledge about hemophilias and facilities for specialized tests for diagnosis are required. Few centres of north-eastern part of India perform these tests so hemophilias remain an underdiagnosed and underreported disease.

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is a chorioretinal disorder of the eye characterized by serous detachment of the neurosensory retina at the posterior pole of the eye. CSCR results from the accumulation of subretinal fluid (SRF) due to idiopathic defects at the level of the retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) that allows serous fluid from the choriocapillaris to diffuse into the subretinal space between RPE and neurosensory retinal layers. My suggestion: There is no difference in survival of breast cancer patients treated with either mastectomy or with breast conservation therapy combined with external beam radiotherapy. Until 2014, pegylated interferon plus ribavirin was the recommended standard of care for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in India. This open-label phase 3b study, conducted across 14 sites in India between 31 March 2014 and 30 November 2015, evaluated the efficacy and safety of sofosbuvir plus ribavirin therapy among treatment-naïve patients with chronic genotype 1 or 3 HCV infection. A total of 117 patients with genotype 1 or 3 HCV infection were randomized 1:1 to receive sofosbuvir 400 mg and weight-based ribavirin (1000 or 1200 mg) daily for 16 or 24 weeks.

An unexpected oesophageal web in a case of suspected tracheo-oesophageal fistula in a premature neonate posted for diagnostic broncho-oesophagoscopy.

Oesophageal webs are thin (2-3mm) membranes of normal oesophageal tissue consisting of mucosa and submucosa. They can be congenital or acquired. Congenital oesophageal webs are very rare and usually present in adulthood.
