Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), the primary subtype of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), accounts for 80 % to 85 % of cases. Due to suboptimal screening method, LUAD is often detected in late stage, leading to aggressive progression and poor outcomes. Therefore, early disease prognosis for the LUAD is high priority.

However, genetic regulatory elements and epigenetic modifications can disrupt this equality, leading to preferential expression of one allele. Examining high-confidence allele-specific expression (ASE) is vital for understanding genetic variations and their impact on major diseases like cancers and diabetes.

Dysfunctional GSK-3β activity can lead to ion channel disturbances, sustain abnormal excitability, and contribute to the pathogenesis of epilepsy and other GSK-3β-related disorders. A set of 82 pyrazole analogs was utilized to study its structural features using a three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR), virtual screening, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics.

It affects not only daily functioning but also interpersonal relationships and overall health by increasing the risks of chronic physical and mental illnesses. Creatine, traditionally recognized for boosting physical performance through its role in producing adenosine triphosphate, has recently shown potential as an adjunctive therapy for treating depression.

Complex tumour ecosystem comprising tumour cells and its associated tumour microenvironment (TME) constantly influence the tumoural behaviour and ultimately impact therapy failure, disease progression, recurrence and poor overall survival of patients. Crosstalk between tumour cells and TME amplifies the complexity by creating metabolic changes such as hypoxic environment and nutrient fluctuations. These changes in TME initiate stem cell-like programmes in cancer cells, contribute to tumoural heterogeneity and increase tumour robustness.

These strains pose a serious threat to human and animal health, underscoring the urgency of comprehensive research and surveillance. The ongoing investigation seeks ESBL producing strains from pig farms and slaughterhouses in West Bengal and Assam, India.

Recent research has revealed that targeting 5-hydroxytryptamine 2 (5-HT) receptors can help suppress these conditions. An in-depth literature study has identified that phytocompounds from the Boerhavia genus could reduce seizures.

Besides genetic alterations, epigenetic modulations including DNA methylation, histone modifications and miRNA mediated alteration of gene expression are the key driving forces for the prostate tumor development and cancer progression. Aberrant expression and/or the activity of the epigenetic modifiers/enzymes, results in aberrant expression of genes involved in DNA repair, cell cycle regulation, cell adhesion, apoptosis, autophagy, tumor suppression and hormone response and thereby disease progression.

SRY (Sex Determining Region) box 2 (SOX2) is an essential transcription factor that plays crucial roles in activating genes involved in pre- and post-embryonic development, adult tissue homeostasis, and lineage specifications. SOX2 maintains the self-renewal property of stem cells and is involved in the generation of induced pluripotency stem cells. SOX2 protein contains a particular high-mobility group domain that enables SOX2 to achieve the capacity to participate in a broad variety of functions.

Liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) describes many biochemical processes, including hydrogel formation, in the integrity of macromolecular assemblages and existence of membraneless organelles, including ribosome, nucleolus, nuclear speckles, paraspeckles, promyelocytic leukemia (PML) bodies, Cajal bodies (all exert crucial roles in cellular physiology), and evidence are emerging day by day. Also, phase separation is well documented in generation of plasma membrane subdomains and interplay between membranous and membraneless organelles. Intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) of biopolymers/proteins are the most critical sticking regions that aggravate the formation of such condensates.

According to the monoamine-deficiency hypothesis, the underlying pathophysiology of depression is a deficiency of some neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine) in the central nervous system. The neurotransmitter serotonin has drawn the most attention concerning depression.

Autophagy and apoptosis, two intricate cellular processes, are integral to NSCLC pathophysiology, each affecting the other through shared signaling pathways. Phytol (Phy) and α-bisabolol (Bis) have shown promise as potential anticancer agents individually, but their combined effects in NSCLC have not been extensively investigated.

The study aims to assess the self-perceived occupational stress levels and the psychological link between predictors and stress among orthodontic practitioners in India.

Mechanical forces may be generated within a cell due to tissue stiffness, cytoskeletal reorganization, and the changes (even subtle) in the cell's physical surroundings. These changes of forces impose a mechanical tension within the intracellular protein network (both cytosolic and nuclear). Mechanical tension could be released by a series of protein-protein interactions often facilitated by membrane lipids, lectins and sugar molecules and thus generate a type of signal to drive cellular processes, including cell differentiation, polarity, growth, adhesion, movement, and survival.

Chromatin modifications - including DNA methylation, modification of histones and recruitment of noncoding RNAs - are essential epigenetic events. Multiple sequential modifications converge into a complex epigenetic landscape. For example, promoter DNA methylation is recognized by MeCP2/methyl CpG binding domain proteins which further recruit SETDB1/SUV39 to attain a higher order chromatin structure by propagation of inactive epigenetic marks like H3K9me3.

Methods: SOX2 expression in prostate and breast cancer tissues and cell lines was determined by qRT-PCR, Western blot, and immunochemistry, followed by the investigation of pro-tumorigenic properties like cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis by gene knockdown and treatment with epigenetic modulators and ChIP.
Even though there is a link between antibiotic resistance and the presence of transposable elements few research has looked at the prevalence and distribution of transposable elements/ integrons in piggery farm samples. Present study identified the presence of six transposable elements namely Tn6763 (Accession number: OQ565300), Tn6764, (Accession number: OQ565299), Tn6765 (Accession number: OQ409902), Tn2003 (Accession number: OQ503494), Tn6072 (Accession number: OQ565298) and Tn6020 (Accession number: OQ503493) in piggery farm waste from India which are belongs to Enterobacteriaceae family. In a conjugative experiment, Klebsiella isolates carrying Tn6020 having the resistant phenotypes for nalidixic acid was used as donor cells while Escherichia coli DH5α Cells carrying chloramphenicol resistant plasmid was employed as recipient cells.
