A quirky truth is that the oldest biomarker findings are largely metabolic. These had minimal impact on contemporary thought and research and were largely ignored. They have been rediscovered and validated almost 100 years later, informing our understanding of neurobiology and medical comorbidity and spurring contemporary treatment discovery efforts.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTumour-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is an uncommon, debilitating disorder often characterised by non-specific clinical manifestations, posing a significant diagnostic challenge. The tumours causing TIO can be minuscule and occur in unusual areas, further complicating diagnosis. This report details the case of a woman in her early 30s presenting with chronic pain who subsequently developed fragility fractures.

AG-270/S095033 is an oral, potent, reversible inhibitor of methionine adenosyltransferase 2 A (MAT2A), the enzyme primarily responsible for the synthesis of SAM. We report results from the first-in-human, phase 1 trial of AG-270/S095033 as monotherapy in patients with advanced malignancies (ClinicalTrials.

Balanced nutrition will be rewarding to profitable and sustainable yield of Kodo millet. In this context, soil test crop response (STCR) experiments on kodo millet were conducted from 2020 to 2022 to assess relationships between yield, soil, plant, and fertilizer nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) and calibrate optimum nutrient doses for attaining yield targets. The Basic parameters, i.

To investigate neural correlates of negative valence in OCD, we pooled fMRI data of 633 individuals with OCD and 453 healthy controls from 16 studies using different negatively-valenced tasks across the ENIGMA-OCD Working-Group.
Methods: Participant data were processed uniformly using HALFpipe, to extract voxelwise participant-level statistical images of one common first-level contrast: negative vs.
In this communication, the concept of metasurface absorber is utilized to enhance the isolation in the dual port multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna specially designed for a wideband millimeter wave operation. The frequency of operation of the designed module is 32.5-42.

This study's aim is to investigate the levels of microplastic (MP) contamination in mangroves from Ghana's Western and Central regions. A total of 1303 particles were analysed from sediment and water samples, 65 % comprising MPs.

Polymeric materials are commonly used as the outermost layer in spacecraft passive thermal control. However, in geostationary earth orbit environments, the polymeric layer is susceptible to environmental hazards, particularly electrostatic charges. In this study, we develop a graphene-based coating on a polymeric polyimide (Kapton) and discuss its suitability in simulated harsh space environments for electrostatic dissipation.

Objectives: To study the demographic characteristics of patients with pheochromocytoma and to identify the risk factors for perioperative complications, treatment outcomes, and aggressive behavior of the tumor.
Background: Cross-sectoral collaborations as exemplified by the One Health approach, are widely endorsed as pragmatic avenues for addressing zoonotic diseases, but operationalisation remain limited in low-and-middle income countries (LMICs). Complexities and competing interests and agendas of key stakeholders and the underlying politico-administrative context can all shape outcomes of collaborative arrangements. Evidence is building that organised collaborations are complex political initiatives where different objectives; individual and institutional agendas need to be reconciled to incentivise collaborations.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo novel BODIPY dyes, BOC3 and BC12, were synthesized with variable alkyl chains at terminal amide functional units. BC12, featuring a longer alkyl chain (-C12H25), formed a gel compared to BOC3, which has a shorter alkyl chain (-CH2OCH3), due to supra molecular self-assembly in film. Both dyes exhibited absorption peaks around 530 nm in the visible region, with a red shift of about 30 nm in the film state, essential for organic electronic applications.

Methods: A case was defined as a laboratory-confirmed KFD-positive resident of Shivamogga from 1 January-31 May 2022.

In this study, we adapted the outflow cannulation of the previously established ShuttlePump TAH and evaluated the anatomical compatibility using the virtual implantation technique.
Methods: We retrospectively assessed the anatomical compatibility of the ShuttlePump using virtual implantation techniques within 3D-reconstructed anatomies of adult heart failure patients.

Striking the right nutrient balance is essential for sustainable farming and ecosystem health. In this regard, field experiments were conducted in three phases viz., fertility gradient experiment, main experiment and validation experiment through a soil test crop response approach to develop and validate fertilizer prescription equations for sweet corn in comparison with general recommended dose and soil fertility rating approach.

Two numerical indicators, the slip path length and traction magnitude, have been identified to be positively correlated to matrix smearing and wrinkling defects. The material model has been calibrated with picture-frame experimental results, and the prediction accuracy for intra-ply shear and thickness distribution was examined with measurements of the physically formed parts.

In the seasonal ice zone, sympagic (ice-associated) primary production can be a major source of carbon for the benthos on productive inflow shelves. However, the role of sympagic organic matter is less well-understood in food webs of heavily ice-covered, less- productive outflow shelves, such as the northeast Greenland shelf.

It is identified that, for AUVs equipped with magnetometers with a detection sensitivity of 0.

However, the existing findings lack consistency or are restricted to a particular brain region, a specific brain feature, or a relatively narrow age range. Here, we investigated associations between brain asymmetry and age as well as sex in one of the largest pediatric samples to date (n = 4265), aged 1-18 years, scanned at 69 sites participating in the ENIGMA (Enhancing NeuroImaging Genetics through Meta-Analysis) consortium.

This paper uses a particle tracking model to simulate the distribution of fishing-related marine-sourced plastic litter from demersal trawling activities along the Atlantic coast of Scotland. The modelled fishing litter dispersed widely across the region, with ∼50% of the particles beaching along the northwestern Scottish coast after a year-long simulation. The model was tuned using observations of beached litter loadings along the same coastline to estimate the annual input, by mass, of small (<1 kg) plastic litter.
