Background: Drought is one of main critical factors that limits sugarcane productivity and juice quality in tropical regions. The unprecedented changes in climate such as monsoon failure, increase in temperature and other factors warrant the need for development of stress tolerant cultivars to sustain sugar production. Plant Nuclear factor (NF-Y) is one of the major classes of transcription factors that have a major role in plant development and abiotic stress response.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTissue factor (TF) and protease-activated receptor 2 (PAR2) have been associated with the progression of cancer, while integrins are essential for the adhesion and migration of cancer cells. This study aimed to explore the cross-talk between the TF:FVIIa complex, PAR2 signaling, and the expression of integrin α1 in cervical cancer cells. Utilizing data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the research examined the relationship between the TF and PAR2 genes and the integrin α1 gene (ITGA1) in reproductive cancers, revealing a positive correlation between integrin α1 expression and both TF and PAR2 genes.

The UHPLC-MS/MS metabolomics approach was employed to profile and characterize multi-components in Halamphora sp. extracted with different solvents that contribute to quorum sensing inhibitory (QSI) activity. A total of 37 and 34 metabolites were tentatively identified from negative and positive ion modes, respectively.

This mild and simple reaction proceeds in an atom-economic manner with broad substrate scope, affording a variety of -aryl 1,2,3-triazole-1-oxide derivatives. Other salient features of the reaction are good functional group tolerance, scalability, and product diversification.

This is largely because vaccines are primarily made against pathogens that cause communicable diseases rather than opportunistic infections secondary to trauma, and most successful vaccines are against viruses rather than biofilm forming bacteria. Nonetheless, the tremendous costs to patients and healthcare systems warrant orthopedic trauma vaccine research, which has been a focal topic in recent international consensus meetings on musculoskeletal infection.

Although there are studies in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) which have investigated the origin of spike-wave discharges, reports on the propagation of discharges are sparse.
Objective: The current study investigated the propagation of spike-wave discharges in JME, which was investigated by statistically comparing the electroencephalography (EEG)-derived cortical source activity during (a) various phases of spike-wave discharge versus background (eyes closed) activity, and (b) various phases of the first spike wave versus the corresponding phase of subsequent spike waves.
Cancer care organizations often struggle to adequately address the unique needs of adolescent and young adult cancer patients, resulting in poorer outcomes compared with other age groups. Creation of adolescent and young adult cancer programs serves to bridge this gap and improve quality of care for this population. We aimed to describe the evolution and impact of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program.

Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) plays a crucial role in mediating pain perceptions in humans by transferring methyl groups to catecholamines. This process requires adequate S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe).

GBM poses significant challenges for targeted therapies due to its intra- and inter-tumoral heterogeneity, a highly immunosuppressive microenvironment, diffuse infiltration into normal brain parenchyma, protection by the blood-brain barrier and acquisition of therapeutic resistance. Recent studies have implicated epigenetic modifiers as key players driving tumorigenesis, resistance, and progression of GBM.

This study aimed to address the absence of a suitable and validated Hindi version of the NDI for the rural population. The specific objectives were to translate, adapt, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the newly developed Hindi version of the NDI.

Background: A major objective in the management of deep carious lesions involving proximal surfaces of primary molars is to control marginal leakage. This could occur due to dimensional changes or failure in the adaptation of pulp capping materials to the prepared cavity. Evaluation of microleakage is important for assessing the success of newer pulp capping materials.

Though reports have been published about the relaxation effect during both verbal "OM" chanting and listening to "OM" chanting, there is a paucity of literature concerning the cortical areas activated/deactivated after verbal "OM" chanting and listening to "OM" chanting using quantitative electro-encephalography (qEEG).
Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the effects of verbal "OM" chanting and listening to "OM" chanting on cortical sources as compared to baseline, as assessed by qEEG.
The incidence of prosthetic joint infection (PJI) following elective primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is very low but serious risk remains. To identify unknown risk factors, we completed a natural history study of IgG specific for Staphylococcus aureus antigens previously phenotyped as protective (anti-Atl) and pathogenic (anti-Isd). Twenty-five male and 25 female optimized patients 50-85 years of age and BMI 24-39 undergoing primary TKA were prospectively enrolled.

Several advancements like HRCT, FLAIR and Propeller have advantages in diagnosing the diseases very accurately, but still have enough space for improvements due to the presence of inherent and instrument noises. In the case of CT and MRI, the quantum mottle and the Gaussian and Rayleigh noises, respectively are still present in their advanced modalities of imaging.

We review the advantages and disadvantages of traditional imaging modalities used in preoperative assessment of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism: ultrasound, SPECT, and 4D CT. We describe a scheme for optimizing and individualizing preoperative imaging of patients with hyperfunctioning parathyroid glands using traditional modalities in tandem with 4D SPECT/CT.
