Rationally designing a current collector that can maintain low lithium (Li) porosity and smooth morphology while enduring high-loading Li deposition is crucial for realizing the high energy density of Li metal batteries, but it is still challengeable. Herein, a LiZnCu alloy-modified Cu foil is reported as a stable current collector to fulfill the stable high-loading Li deposition. Benefiting from the in situ alloying, the generated numerous LiZnCu@Cu heterojunctions induce a homogeneous Li nucleation and dense growth even at an ultrahigh capacity of 12 mAh cm.

The construction and modification of a Graphene Oxide (GO) membrane, incorporating polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) cross-linked with maleic acid (MA) and supported by a nylon membrane, have been successfully completed. Systematic variations in PVA and MA concentrations were conducted to achieve membranes with favorable characteristics, stability, and excellent desalination performance. Optimization studies utilizing the Central Composite Design (CCD) revealed that the most optimal desalination results were obtained with 10 mL of PVA (0.

To understand the current status of personal protection in occupational population at high risk for brucellosis in China and provide evidence for the evaluation of implementation of National Brucellosis Prevention and Control Plan (2016-2020). Four counties in Shanxi Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey in occupational population at high risk for brucellosis from December 2019 to July 2020 by using cross-sectional survey methods. A total of 2 384 persons at high risk for brucellosis were surveyed, and the standardized utilization rate of personal protective equipment (PPE) was 20.

Good nonverbal communication between doctor and patient is essential for achieving a successful and therapeutic doctor-patient relationship. Increasing evidence has shown that nonverbal communication mimicry, particularly facial mimicry, where one mirrors another's facial expressions, is linked to empathy and emotion recognition. Empathy is also the key driver of patient satisfaction.

Objectives/background: Insomnia is a common sleep complaint among patients who had a stroke and has been recognized as an independent risk factor for cognitive impairment. However, the relationship between poststroke insomnia and cognitive impairment over time is under-researched. Therefore, we examined the association between poststroke insomnia and the risk of cognitive impairment.

Rapid urbanization and industrialization have brought about regional prosperity and pressure on the ecological environment, and the disorder of development has led to competition among the production-living-ecology functions. How to build livable cities, optimize the spatial layout of land, and promote the coordinated development of the production-living-ecology functions in various regions has become an important issue in the sustainable development and utilization of land space. In order to study the spatiotemporal conflict and coordination of the production-living-ecology functions with respect to the dramatic developments associated with the 21st century, this study took Hubei Province, which is the top-ranking economic region in China in recent years, as the study area and adopted the global entropy value method, triangle model, and coupled evaluation model to delineate an index system to measure the degree of conflict and coordination of the production-living-ecology functions in Hubei Province from 2000 to 2020, and also delineate zoning management based on statistical yearbook data.

The epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a reversible process that may interact with tumour immunity through multiple approaches. There is increasing evidence demonstrating the interconnections among EMT-related processes, the tumour microenvironment, and immune activity, as well as its potential influence on the immunotherapy response. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as critical modulators of gene expression.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to create a deep learning model called Deep-KOA to predict the risk of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) within a year using three years' worth of electronic medical record (EMR) data.
  • Researchers analyzed data from two million patients, with 132,594 having KOA, and employed deep learning techniques, particularly CNN and ANN, to build a predictive model.
  • Deep-KOA demonstrated strong performance with an AUROC of 0.97 and highlighted significant features from various health conditions and medication use, while age and sex were less important predictors.

Purpose: To assess whether the newly designed small-molecule oral P-selectin inhibitor 3-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-methyl aspartyl ester (THCMA) as a nanomedicine enhances antithrombosis, anti-inflammation, and antitumor activity more than the clinical trial drug PSI-697.

Methods: THCMA was designed as an amphiphile containing pharmacophores of PSI-697. Its nanofeatures were explored with TEM, SEM, Tyndall effect, ζ-potential, FT-ICR-MS, and NOESY 2D H NMR.

Background: Computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems are incorporated into clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) to reduce medication errors and improve patient safety. Automatic alerts generated from CDSSs can directly assist physicians in making useful clinical decisions and can help shape prescribing behavior. Multiple studies reported that approximately 90%-96% of alerts are overridden by physicians, which raises questions about the effectiveness of CDSSs.

The incorporation of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles onto the surface of titanium is an effective method to improve its osteoinductive ability. However, there are still issues with the hydroxyapatite nanoparticle coatings fabricated using current methods, such as particle aggregation and unsatisfactory binding ability with the matrix, in addition to the difficulties in the multi-functionalization of antibacterial, anti-wear and bioinductive ability. In the present study, we propose a strategy to fabricate a refined hydroxyapatite nanoparticles/copper nanoparticles co-deposition titanium matrix by the mediation of pulse electrochemical polymerized pyrrole through its coordination and doping of cations and anions.
