Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disorder derived from autoreactive immune system attacking the protective myelin sheath that surrounds nerves in the central nervous system (CNS). Here, a tolerogenic nanovaccine for generating an antigen-specific immune tolerance for treating MS is proposed. It consisted of a mesoporous polydopamine (mPDA) nanoparticle, characterized by high reactive oxygen species (ROS)-scavenging property, loaded with MS-derived autoantigen.

Despite its unique physical and chemical properties for energy storage applications, there have been very few studies on how BN stores anion carriers. Herein, the hybrid architecture and anion storage mechanism of BN nanosheets for high-performance hybrid energy storage full cells based on dual-ion and Zinc (Zn) alkaline systems is demonstrated.

Methods: The intrahepatic metastasis Bagg's Albino/c (BALB/c) mouse model was established with human hepatocellular carcinomas (HepG2) cells, then treated with normal saline (once per day), cisplatin (2 mg/kg, once every 2 d), and SSPH Ⅰ (25, 50, and 75 mg/kg, once per day). Then, we assessed alterations in the hepatic pathology and target protein expressions in the intrahepatic metastasis BALB/c mouse model using a series of molecular biology techniques.
Herein, hierarchically structured microgrid frameworks of CoO and carbon composite deposited on reduced graphene oxide (CoO@C/rGO) are demonstrated through the three-dimensioinal (3D) printing method, where the porous structure is controllable and the height and width are scalable, for dendrite-free Na metal deposition. The sodiophilicity, facile Na metal deposition kinetics, and NaF-rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation of cubic CoO phase are confirmed by combined spectroscopic and computational analyses. Moreover, the uniform and reversible Na plating/stripping process on 3D-printed CoO@C/rGO host is monitored in real time using in situ transmission electron and optical microscopies.

For effective IBD treatment, there is a high demand for safe and targeted therapy that can be orally administered. In this study, we aimed to propose the use of inflamed colon-targeted antioxidant nanotherapeutics (ICANs) for oxidative stress level modulation in colitis.

The Pink1-Mfn2-Parkin pathway, a well-recognized mechanism that mediates mitochondrial autophagy, plays a big part in mitochondrial quality control and the maintenance of heart function. However, the effects of YMG on endothelial dysfunction and mitochondrial autophagy remain unknown.

Recently, it has been suggested that ferroptosis can be an effective way to induce cancer cell death, although the specific relevance and mechanism of ferroptosis have not been fully elucidated. Here, we investigated the anticancer effects of ferroptosis inducers erastin and RSL3 on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells.

However, specific marker(s) that could be used to predict lymph node (LN) involvement, which is the most important prognostic factor for CRC, have not been identified so far. Our previous study, in which network analysis of LN(+) and LN(-) CRC gene expression was carried out with data obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas, led to the identification of AHA1.

By both the theoretical DFT calculations and the practical cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements, it is shown that the redox potentials (E) of the 1,2,4,5-tetrazines (s-tetrazines) have a strong correlation with the Hammett constant of the substituents. In Li-ion coin cells, the discharge voltages of the s-tetrazine electrodes are successfully tuned depending on the electron-donating/withdrawing capabilities of the substituents.

It binds to its endogenous inhibitor Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) in the cytoplasm under normal conditions. Various endogenous or environmental oxidative stresses can disrupt the Nrf2/Keap1 complex, allowing Nrf2 to translocate into the nucleus, where it induces the transcription of various cytoprotective enzymes by binding to antioxidant responsive elements.

MTI was anticipated to deliver a higher theoretical specific capacity of up to 282 mAh g with increased reduction potentials compared with the well-known pyromellitic diimide building block bearing two imide groups because the additional imide group can accept one more electron and provide an electron-withdrawing effect. A model compound, ethyl-substituted mellitic triimide (ETTI), shows three well distinguished and reversible one-electron redox reactions at -0.

Recently, we observed a higher incidence of coronary lesions in KD patients with high anti-streptolysin O (ASO) titer. Therefore, we hypothesized that KD patients diagnosed with concurrent streptococcal infection have poor prognosis, with respect to treatment response and development of coronary artery lesions.
