A rare type of localized gigantism known as macrodystrophia lipomatosa is characterized by a disproportionate increase in fibroadipose tissues and a gradual overgrowth of all mesenchymal elements. The distribution in the lower extremities' plantar nerves and the upper extremity's median nerve is most commonly observed. This abnormality is congenital and typically manifests at birth or during the neonatal stage.

The occurrence of isolated bilateral hippocampus infarct is extremely rare and is thought to be associated with a number of etiologies, including ischemia, infection, paraneoplastic syndromes, seizures, drug addiction, etc. The presented manuscript depicts a case of a 28-year-old male patient who has been a chronic alcoholic for the past 4 years and, on imaging, was found to have a bilateral hippocampal infarct in isolation. Also, the manuscript presents the appearance of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of Bochdalek's flower basket, which is an anatomical variant of the choroid plexus in the fourth ventricle.

Myasthenia gravis is an acquired neuromuscular disorder characterized by weakness of the extra-ocular muscles, which progresses to generalized weakness of the voluntary muscles and fatigability. The presented case is of a 70-year-old male patient who presented with complaints of drooping of bilateral eyelids and breathlessness and was diagnosed to have myasthenia gravis and thymic mass. It is uncommon for an elderly patient to present with thymic mass and myasthenia gravis concurrently.

Background: An importance of tillage, inorganic and organic nutrient sources in the mustard - soybean cropping system lies in their ability to enhance soil fertility, improve nutrient availability, optimize crop growth and yield, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Any cropping system's sustainability could be increased by implementing better management techniques like zero and reduced tillage with residue retention and better nutrient sources.

Results: A field experiment was conducted for four consecutive seasons (Winter 2019 to Rainy 2021) to compare the two enhanced management practices, zero and reduced tillage to conventional tillage across four levels of nutrient sources: 75 and 100% recommended dose of nitrogen through FYM and 75 and 100% recommended dose of fertilizers through urea, single super phosphate and muriate of potash in a two years experiment.

The existing treatments against are faced with several drawbacks, such as limited drug options, resistance, the relapse of infection, toxicity, etc., which emphasizes the necessity for new alternatives. We synthesized novel metal-based antiparasitic compounds using chitosan, hydroxychloroquine (HC), and ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) and characterized them for size, morphology, chemical interactions, etc.

  • The study investigates Avian nephritis virus (ANV) in poultry, focusing on its genetic features in India, where such information has been limited.
  • Researchers screened 386 intestinal samples from two north Indian states and confirmed ANV presence in 32 samples, with some showing co-infections with other viruses.
  • The successful isolation of the virus and sequencing of its genome marked the identification of ANV genotype 4 (ANV4) in India, highlighting the need for improved diagnostic tools and vaccines for better managing this pathogen.

Ayurvedic medicine utilizes metal-based preparations, known as bhasmas, to treat various health conditions. Yasad bhasma (YB), a zinc-based ayurvedic preparation, shows promise as a potential candidate for developing zinc-based nanomedicines with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In this study, we synthesized a formulation combining YB and hydroxychloroquine (HC) as a zinc ionophore (YBHC) and investigated its biocompatibility and antiviral effects against buffalo calf coronavirus (BCoV) in Vero cells.

Introduction: The rise in digital technology use, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has heightened concerns about extended "screen time" (ST) among adolescents. Excessive screen use is linked to negative physical and cognitive effects, yet digital media also offers educational and social advantages. Cultivating healthy digital habits is crucial as technology continues to evolve.

Invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common type of breast cancer and can affect any age group, predominantly females older than 55 years of age. We present a case of a female in her mid-30s complaining of a fungating mass in the upper outer quadrant of the left anterior chest wall. On workup of the patient, it was histopathologically found that the patient was affected by infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the left breast, which was causing tumoral thrombosis of the left axillary vein.

Background: Comprehensive session summaries enable effective continuity in mental health counseling, facilitating informed therapy planning. However, manual summarization presents a significant challenge, diverting experts' attention from the core counseling process. Leveraging advances in automatic summarization to streamline the summarization process addresses this issue because this enables mental health professionals to access concise summaries of lengthy therapy sessions, thereby increasing their efficiency.

The leading cause of isolated thrombocytopenia in asymptomatic individuals is immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). It is an autoimmune disease characterized by decreased platelet counts caused by the immune system's destruction of platelets.  Sometimes, autoimmune thyroid diseases and ITP can coexist, which could cause an aggravated immune system response.

Background: The rice-wheat cropping system is the prevailing agricultural method in the North-Western states of India, namely in the Indo-Gangetic plains. The practice of open burning of rice residue is frequently employed for expedient land preparation, but it has significant adverse impacts on both the environment and human health. These include the emission of greenhouse gases, loss of nutrients, elevated concentrations of particulate matter (PM), and disruption of the biological cycle.

This case report presents a 24-year-old female with a history of ulcerative colitis (UC) who sought care for symptoms initially suggestive of the disease exacerbation but was later diagnosed as acute cytomegalovirus (CMV) colitis. The patient's clinical course, marked by watery diarrhea, blood in stools, vomiting, and fever, raised suspicion of a UC flare. However, a nuanced diagnostic approach revealed CMV superinfection, including computed tomography, colonoscopy, and tissue polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Background: Establishing a strong bond between the pulp capping agent and the restorative material is crucial to the success of the procedure. Without this bond, there is a risk of bacterial infiltration into the pulp, leading to treatment failure. In the past, calcium hydroxide was commonly used for such treatments, but it faced challenges, including poor adhesion to dentin, dissolution over time, and the development of multiple tunnel defects.

Internal jugular vein (IJV) thrombosis, also known as Lemierre syndrome (LS), is a potentially dangerous complication that follows oropharyngeal infections. It has also been documented in individuals with cervical lymph node infection, thyroid abscess, and pharyngeal abscess. LS is potentially a catastrophic complication and, if not detected and treated early, can lead to mortality.

When it comes to thyroid disorders, Graves' disease (GD) is the most prevalent autoimmune thyroid disorder in which antibodies are formed against thyroid receptors. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare autoimmune neuromuscular junction disorder. Autoimmune antibodies are formed against postsynaptic neuromuscular junctions in MG, interrupting neuromuscular transmission and causing variable muscle weakness and tiredness.
