Computed tomography (CT) scans are often used for postoperative imaging in orthopedics. In the presence of metallic hardware, artifacts are generated, which can hamper visualization of the CT images, and also render the study ineffective for 3-D printing. Various solutions are available to minimize metal artifacts, and radiologists can employ these before or after processing the CT study.

Objective: Access to quality, effective lifesaving uterotonics in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) remains a major barrier to reducing maternal deaths from postpartum haemorrhage (PPH). Our objective was to assess the costs of care for women who receive different preventative uterotonics, and with PPH and no-PPH so that the differences, if significant, can inform better resource allocation for maternal health care.

Methods: The costs of direct hospital care of women who received oxytocin or heat-stable carbetocin for prevention of PPH in selected tertiary care facilities in India, Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda were assessed.

Phosgene derivatives and chloromethyl chloroformate are chlorinated organic compounds, which are toxic in nature and are used as chemical warfare agents and for the synthesis of other organic compounds. In this work, the different modes of adsorption of these toxic molecules on pristine graphene and Fe-decorated graphene have been studied. It has been found that physisorption of these adsorbates occurs on pristine graphene, but when graphene is decorated with a Fe-cluster, dissociative adsorption takes place and the adsorption energy and charge transfer increase.
