Green surfactant (GS) flooding, an environmentally friendly chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (cEOR) method, is explored in this molecular dynamics (MD) simulation study. This study evaluates the ability of ()-2-dodecanamido-aminobutanedioic as a GS for cEOR, assessing its performance with hexane (C6), dodecane (C12), and eicosane (C20) as representative oils. In the case of the bulk system, a comprehensive molecular-level investigation provides structural details such as the radial distribution function, solvent-accessible surface area, GS adsorption dynamics, diffusivity, and emulsion stability of the GS, oil, and water systems.

Fungal keratitis (FK) is a fungal infection of the cornea, which is part of the eye and causes corneal ulcers and an increased risk of permanent blindness, which is often found in species. Amphotericin B (AMB), which is a group of polyenes as the first-line treatment of FK, is effective in annihilating . However, AMB preparations such as eye drops and ointments have major drawbacks, for instance, requiring more frequent administrations, loss of the drug by the drainage process, and rapid elimination in the precornea, which result in low bioavailability of the drug.

Advancing the discourse of Muslim politics in Indonesia: A study on political orientation of Kiai as religious elites in Nahdlatul Ulama.

The present study was designed to investigate the political interactions of Kiai of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in the national political arena and its current impact on the Indonesian Muslim community. The data were garnered through interviews and focus group discussions with Kiai and related parties. The results of the study suggest that the political orientation of the Kiai of NU in Indonesia is oriented to pragmatism and oriented to piety idealism in politics based on Islamic ethics.

Materials And Methods: The presence of endocrine cells (glucagon, somatostatin, and serotonin) in the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, and intestine) was detected using the avidin-biotin complex (ABC) method.

Results: Three types of endocrine cells immunoreactive to antisera glucagon, serotonin, and somatostatin were found in the caudal portion of the small and large intestines but were not observed in the esophagus, stomach, and caput and medial sections of the small intestine.

Techno-economic analysis of bio-briquette from cashew nut shell waste.

The implementation of this research consists of 2 (two) aspects: the making and testing of bio-briquettes called technological aspects and economic analysis called economic aspects. Bio-briquettes is made from cashew nutshell waste obtained from Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Background Medicinal plants are known to perform many pharmacological actions due to their chemical metabolites, which include antiviral effects. Previously, the extract of Ruta angustifolia was shown to have potential anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) activity without any cytotoxicity, with a 50% inhibitory concentration of 3.0 μg/mL and a 50% cytotoxicity concentration of >100 μg/mL.

Molecular dynamic simulations of self-assembly of amphiphilic comb-like anionic polybenzoxazines.

Fully atomistic molecular dynamic simulations were performed to address the self-assembly of amphiphilic and comb-like polybenzoxazines (iBnXz) in water, with i = 3 (trimer), i = 4 (tetramer); i = 6 (hexamer), i = 8 (octamer), and i = 10 (decamer). Spontaneous aggregation of these comb-like polybenzoxazine molecules into a single micelle occurs in the simulations. The simulations show that molecular size and concentration play important roles in micellar morphology.

Synthesis and evaluation of novel anionic polymeric surfactants based on polybenzoxazines.

A novel platform of anionic polymeric surfactants, poly(4HBA-oca(-)Na(+)), poly(4HBA-dea(-)Na(+)), and poly(4HBA-doa(-)Na(+)), has been synthesized by polymerizing benzoxazine monomers that are synthesized by reacting an aliphatic amine of variable chain length (C8, C10 and C12), with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and paraformaldehyde. The structures of the monomers and polymeric surfactants are confirmed by NMR and FTIR. The ring-opening polymerization and thermal behavior of the benzoxazine monomers are studied by DSC and TGA.

Degradation of glycerol using hydrothermal process.

Sub-critical or supercritical water was utilized for the degradation of glycerol in an environmentally benign reaction. The reaction was carried out in a batch reactor in the temperature range of 473-673 K, pressure of 30 MPa, and reaction time of 20-60 min. The effects of temperature and reaction time were observed.

The effect of cortex thickness on intact femur biomechanics: a comparison of finite element analysis with synthetic femurs.

Biomechanical studies on femur fracture fixation with orthopaedic implants are numerous in the literature. However, few studies have compared the mechanical stability of these repair constructs in osteoporotic versus normal bone. The present aim was to examine how changes in cortical wall thickness of intact femurs affect biomechanical characteristics.
