Background: Superselective lateral neck dissection (SSND), defined as dissection of 2 or less contiguous lateral cervical nodal levels, has emerged as a treatment option for metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), in place of a selective neck dissection (SND). There are few studies exploring outcomes of SSND compared to SND in this context.
Materials And Methods: This was a single institution retrospective study.
The death and disability caused by myocardial infarction is a health problem that needs to be addressed worldwide, and poor cardiac repair and fibrosis after myocardial infarction seriously affect patient recovery. Postmyocardial infarction repair by M2 macrophages is of great significance for ventricular remodeling. Quercitrin (Que) is a common flavonoid in fruits and vegetables that has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor and other effects, but whether it has a role in the treatment of myocardial infarction is unclear.

This study investigates the impact of asset-light strategy on corporate performance using a sample of 588 firm-year observations from China A-share publicly traded tourism companies from 2003 to 2021. Using two-way fixed effects models, our results indicate that adopting an asset-light strategy can significantly improve the performance of tourism enterprises.

Currently, the precise role of immune-metabolic pathways in the differentiation and function of MDSCs is not fully understood. Hexokinase 2 (HK2) is an isoform of hexokinase and is a key enzyme involved in the increased aerobic glycolysis of different immune cells during their activation and function.

Existing vaccines have limited effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 variants. Therefore, novel vaccines to match mutated viral lineages by providing long-term protective immunity are urgently needed.

Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory condition that leads to a variety of life-threatening cardiovascular diseases, is a worldwide public health concern. Endothelial cells (ECs), which line the inside of blood vessels, play an important role in atherogenic initiation. Endothelial activation and inflammation are indispensable for the early stage of atherosclerosis.

The cardiac allograft rejection requires the activation of macrophages and effector T cells. In this study, we explored the role of zinc-finger and BTB domain containing protein 20 (ZBTB20) in the regulation of heart allograft rejection.

Methods: Patients with malignant CBTs who were diagnosed between 1975 and 2018 were screened from nine registries of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Cases that were coded as "carotid body tumor, malignant" or malignant tumors with the primary site recorded as "carotid body" were screened for inclusion in the study.
Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a clonal proliferative disorder of granulocytic lineage, with morphologic evaluation as the first step for a definite diagnosis. This study developed a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN)-based model, CMLcGAN, to segment megakaryocytes from myeloid cells in bone marrow biopsies. After segmentation, the statistical characteristics of two types of cells were extracted and compared between patients and controls.

Doxorubicin (DOX) is a commonly used antitumor drug. However, it may cause severe cardiotoxicity, apoptosis being a major change. A recent report indicates that miR-147 expression is decreased in the myocardium of a myocardial infarction model, suggesting a potential role of this miRNA in DOX-induced cardiomyocyte toxicity.

Therefore, the aim of this study is twofold: (I) to observe the characteristics of changes in echocardiographic parameters of the donor's heart before and after heart transplantation and (II) to study the relationship between the changes in echocardiographic parameters of the donor's heart pre- and post-transplant and transplant recipient survival.
Methods: A total of 29 patients who underwent orthotopic heart transplant in our hospital from October 2016 to October 2019 were enrolled in this study.
The development of mouse spermatozoa is a continuous process from spermatogonia, spermatocytes, spermatids to mature sperm. Those developing germ cells (spermatogonia, spermatocyte, and spermatids) together with supporting sertoli cells are all enclosed inside seminiferous tubules of the testis, their identification is key to testis histology and pathology analysis. Automated segmentation of all these cells is a challenging task because of their dynamical changes in different stages.

Regarding whether the user has conducted a sensitive action in the system as a kind of privacy, we propose a privacy-preserving mechanism (PPM) to prevent its action results from being disclosed or inferred. For such a system with the PPM, we first obtain the optimal estimator (OE).

Mental accounting theory concerns how prior outcomes are perceived, combined and assigned into specific "mental" accounts to influence subsequent decisions but remains agnostic about the underlying computational and neural mechanisms. In a two-stage sequential decision-making task, we found previously incurred costs and bonuses biased subjects' choices in the opposite directions with similar magnitudes.

In view of the accessibility of mRNAs from blood, we aimed to find the association between mRNA and ischemia-reperfusion.

To date, limited evidence is available concerning the association between SAB and air pollutants, especially in developing countries. Daily baseline outpatient data for SAB from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2018 (1826 days) were obtained in Chongqing, a metropolis of southwest China.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic metabolic disease in arterial walls, characterized by lipid deposition and persistent aseptic inflammation. AS is regarded as the basis of a variety of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It is widely acknowledged that macrophages would become foam cells after internalizing lipoprotein particles, which is an initial factor in atherogenesis.

To explore the relationship between air pollutants and meteorological conditions on the hospitalization for respiratory diseases, we collected a whole year of daily major air pollutants' concentrations from Shenzhen city in 2013, including Particulate Matter (PM, PM), Nitrogen dioxide (NO), Ozone (O), Sulphur dioxide (SO), and Carbon monoxide (CO). Meanwhile, we also gained meteorological data.

We herein report an enzyme replacement approach to treat PA using a combination of two messenger RNAs (mRNAs) (dual mRNAs) encoding both human PCCA (hPCCA) and PCCB (hPCCB) encapsulated in biodegradable lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to produce functional PCC enzyme in liver. In patient fibroblasts, dual mRNAs encoded proteins localize in mitochondria and produce higher PCC enzyme activity vs.

The molecular mechanisms underlying obesity-related cardiomyopathy (ORCM) progression involve multiple signaling pathways, and the pharmacological treatment for ORCM is still limited. Thus, it is necessary to explore new targets and develop novel therapies. Microarray analysis for gene expression profiles using different bioinformatics tools has been an effective strategy for identifying novel targets for various diseases.
