Contained arsenic (As) and unsafe brackish groundwater irrigation can lead to serious As pollution and increase the ecological risk in cultivated soils. However, little is known about how Fe oxides and microbes affect As migration during soil irrigation processes involving arsenic-contaminated brackish groundwater. In this study, the samples (porewater and soil) were collected through the dynamic soil column experiments to explore the As migration process and its effect factors during soil irrigation.

(IBR), characterized by acute respiratory lesions in cattle, is a major infectious disease caused by (BoAHV-1). Control of this disease is primarily depending on vaccination. Madin-Darby bovine kidney cells (MDBK) being the main host cells and the important production platform for IBR vaccines.

Therefore, it is an urgent need to develop novel antimicrobial agents to address this problem. Natural products (NPs) could provide an effective strategy for the discovery of drug due to their wide range of source and biological activities.

In this study, a CqProfilin (CqPFN) with a conserved PROF domain was identified from the red claw crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus. CqPFN was ubiquitously expressed in all examined tissues and hemocyte, with the highest levels in the hemocyte, followed by hematopoietic tissue (Hpt) from which the hemocyte were derived in crayfish.

The widespread use of the internet has created conditions for promoting the health of this demographic. However, little is known about the effects of information access in promoting the relationship between internet use and the health of middle-aged and older adults.

Despite deep learning advancements, challenges persist in segmenting muscle layers with accurate topology due to pseudo and weak edges caused by acoustic artifacts in ultrasound imagery.
Purpose: To assist anesthesiologists in locating nerve block areas, we have developed a novel deep learning algorithm that can accurately segment muscle layers in abdominal ultrasound images with interference.

Epidemiological and preclinical studies have indicated a factual association between gut microbiota dysbiosis and high incidence of colitis. Dietary polysaccharides can specifically shift the composition of gut microbiome response to colitis. Here we validated the preventive role of polysaccharides from Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae 'Chachiensis' (PCRCP), a well-known traditional Chinese medicine, in colitis induced by dextrose sodium sulfate (DSS) in both rats and mice.

Methods: Gene expression matrices and clinical information for liver cancer samples were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC). An intersection of differentially expressed genes of HCC and normal and GeneCards yielded inflammation-related genes associated with HCC.
, a traditional Chinese medicine for treating conditions associated with abnormal skin pigmentation, contains flavonoids with inhibitory effects on tyrosinase. However, their mechanisms of action and their modulatory effects on melanogenesis remain unclear. Herein, a group of prenylated flavonoids was identified from extracts and their inhibitory activities on mushroom tyrosinase were evaluated.

Among the earliest and most vulnerable sites of damage is Photosystem II (PSII). Plants exposed to recurring high temperatures develop heat stress memory, a phenomenon that enables them to retain information from previous stress events to better cope with subsequent one.

However, despite extensive research spanning several decades, critical questions in eutrophication science remain unanswered. For example, there is still much to understand about the interactions between carbon limitation and ecosystem stability, and the availability of carbon components adds significant complexity to aquatic resource management.

Methods: In this longitudinal retrospective study, 35 patients (50 eyes) with moderate to severe NPDR and Diabetic Retinopathy Severity Scale (DRSS) scores between 43 and 53 were treated at the Department of Ophthalmology, First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, from October 2018 to January 2023. Treatment protocol included three monthly IVC injections followed by a (PRN) regimen over a two-year follow-up period.

Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH), a principal pathophysiological aspect of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), is associated with cognitive deficits. Clinical evidence suggests that a combination of Shengmaisan and Liuwei Dihuang Decoctions (SMS-LD) can enhance cognitive function by nourishing yin and strengthening the kidneys. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and underlying mechanisms of SMS-LD in addressing cognitive impairments induced by CIH.
