Here, we report a SERS based VFA using PNC as a sensing substrate for highly sensitive multiplex mycotoxins detection. The PNC was fabricated by filtration-based self-assembled monodisperse SiO NPs on a filter membrane as a template, and the obtained PNC had an ordered complementary inverse opal structure. In parallel, three kinds of Raman dyes encoding Au@Ag, Au@Ag and Au@Ag SERS nanotags were synthesized for the detection of OTA, AFB1 and ZON.

Acute alcoholic liver injury (AALI) remains a significant global health concern, primarily driven by oxidative stress. This study investigated the protective mechanisms of BC99 against alcohol-induced oxidative stress using a dual model in rats and Caenorhabditis elegans. In rats, excessive alcohol was predominantly metabolized via the CYP2E1 pathway, leading to severe oxidative stress.

Silicon-based all-solid-state batteries offer high energy density and safety but face significant application challenges due to the requirement of high external pressure. In this study, a LiSi/Si-LiSi double-layered anode is developed for all-solid-state batteries operating free from external pressure. Under the cold-pressed sintering of LiSi alloys, the anode forms a top layer (LiSi layer) with mixed ionic/electronic conduction and a bottom layer (Si-LiSi layer) containing a three-dimensional continuous conductive network.

Excessive iron deposition can lead to ferroptosis, a form of iron-dependent cell death detrimental to neuronal survival. Microglia have been identified as having a high capacity for iron deposition, yet it remains unclear whether microglia undergo ferroptosis while phagocytosing excessive amounts of iron after spinal cord injury (SCI). Here, we observed scattered iron around the epicenter of the injured spinal cord at 7 days post-injury (dpi) in mice, which then accumulated in the lesion core at 14 dpi.

Introduction: Propofol is a fast-acting intravenous anaesthetic widely used for sedation and anaesthesia in gastrointestinal endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and the induction/maintenance of general anaesthesia in outpatients and inpatients; however, propofol has several undesirable effects, including injection pain, which affects the physical and mental health of patients, and cardiopulmonary depression, characterised by hypotension, bradycardia and apnea, which commonly occur in clinical practice. Ciprofol (HSK3486) is a propofol analogue with good clinical safety, high potency and some advantages over propofol, including lower injection pain and haemodynamic depression in patients undergoing gastroscopy and colonoscopy. This study aims to compare the impact of equivalent effective doses of propofol and ciprofol on haemodynamic changes in patients undergoing bronchoscopy under general anaesthesia.

Physical, chemical, and dual modifications can all significantly affect the digestibility of isolated rice granules, while their effects on the starch digestibility of whole cooked rice grains remain elusive. Therefore, the impact of malic acid, ultrasound, and ultrasound + malic acid dual treatment on the starch digestibility of cooked rice grains with different starch molecular structures was investigated in this study. Ultrasound mainly caused cavitation on the surface of rice grains, promoting the leaching of materials (> 11 %) and amylose during cooking.

Geriatric oral health care encounters significant challenges with the increase in the proportion of older individuals. Age-related changes in the dentition, muscles, and joints result in a decline in objective masticatory function, subjective restoration requirements, and acceptability among the elderly population, with individual variations influenced by systemic health. Considering functional requirements, the adaptability of stomatognathic and systemic health conditions, health economics and other factors, the authors believe that it should not be limited to the conventional "one-to-one" strategy for replacing missing teeth in geriatric prosthodontics.

The effectiveness of high-carbohydrate diets (HCD) on cognitive impairment is still being debated. To clarify the impact of HCD on the cognitive behavior of mice under low-pressure hypoxic conditions, we studied 24 mice in different environments while subjecting them to dietary intervention for 5 weeks, and conducting behavioral tests. Under low-pressure hypoxic conditions, HCD intervention reversed the decline in spatial learning and memory abilities in mice caused by hypoxia, ameliorated pathological brain damage, and restored the integrity of the intestinal mucosa.

Silicon is widely recognized as a promising anode material for all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) due to exceptional specific capacity, abundant availability, and environmental sustainability. However, the considerable volume expansion and particle fragmentation of Si during cycling lead to significant performance degradation, limiting its practical application. Herein, the development of a pre-lithiated Si-based composite anode (c-LiSi) is presented, designed to address the key challenges faced by Si-based anodes, namely severe volume changes and low electrochemical stability.

Quantum ghost imaging (QGI) leverages correlations between entangled photon pairs to reconstruct an image using light that has never physically interacted with an object. Despite extensive research interest, this technique has long been hindered by slow acquisition speeds, due to the use of raster-scanned detectors or the slow response of intensified cameras. Here, we utilize a single-photon-sensitive time-stamping camera to perform QGI at ultra-low-light levels with rapid data acquisition and processing times, achieving high-resolution and high-contrast images in under 1 min.

Before patients begin out-of-bed exercises following internal fixation surgery for acetabular fractures, turning over in bed serves as a crucial intervention to mitigate complications associated with prolonged bed rest. However, data on the safety of this maneuver post-surgery are limited, and the biomechanical evidence remains unclear. This study aims to introduce a novel loading protocol designed to preliminarily simulate the action of turning over in bed and to compare the biomechanical properties of two fixation methods for acetabular fractures under this new protocol.

Terminal exhaustion is a critical barrier to antitumor immunity. By integrating and analyzing single-cell RNA-sequencing and single-cell assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing data, we found that ETS variant 7 (ETV7) is indispensable for determining CD8 T cell fate in tumors. ETV7 introduction drives T cell differentiation from memory to terminal exhaustion, limiting antiviral and antitumor efficacy in male mice.
