A total of 43 males with craniocerebral injury of varying severity were studied for the venous blood plasma levels of adrenaline, noradrenaline, adrenocorticotrophic hormone, and hydrocortisone in dynamics. Their computed tomograms were quantitatively analysed to identify the site of contusion foci in the cerebral hemispheres, especially the lesion signs of mesodiencephalic and truncal regions of the brain. The results of the studies and non-linear regression analysis have shown that brain injury leads to a substantial activation of the body's sympathoadrenal system, extremely severe injury causes its partial reduced performance.
