Dry eye disease (DED) is a multifactorial illness affecting tears and the ocular surface. The neurokinin 1 receptor (NK1R) is a target for controlling T helper 17 (Th17) and regulatory T cell (Treg) imbalances. This work creates a silk fibroin (SF) nanoparticle hydrogel that targets NK1R with CP-99,994 (CP).

However, existing detection systems, which primarily rely on active scanning technologies, are hindered by high costs, significant energy demands, and challenges in achieving large-scale deployment. Here, we introduce a microfiber-based triboelectric acoustic sensor (MTAS) featuring a core-shell hierarchical structure, offering a self-powered solution for precise measurement of underwater ultrasound source distance.

Nisin, a natural antimicrobial peptide used for food preservation, exhibits limited sustained activity and a narrow antimicrobial spectrum, making its enhancement essential. To address these issues, this study employed electrostatic self-assembly technology to develop chitosan-pectin nanoparticles loaded with nisin (CNP) to improve processed cheese stability at room temperature.

The effectiveness of NO-based treatments relies on precise control of NO concentrations tailored to specific therapeutic needs. Electrochemical generation of NO (E-NOgen) via nitrite (NO ) reduction offers a scalable and efficient route for controlled NO production, while also addressing environmental concerns by reducing NO pollution and maintaining nitrogen cycle balance.

Purpose: Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) is an aerobic metabolic mechanism, and its dysfunction plays an important role in the pathological changes of ischemic diseases. However, systematic studies on the occurrence of retinal detachment (RD) are lacking.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of the human retina was performed to detect the metabolic changes of various retinal cells after RD.
To investigate the potential association between body mass index (BMI) and the clinicopathological features of patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). We retrospectively analyzed data from 2541 patients who underwent partial or radical nephrectomy for renal masses between 2013 and 2023 in a single institution. Patients were divided into normal-weight, overweight, and obese groups based on the Chinese BMI classification.

However, its poor water solubility and low bioavailability limit its effectiveness. To address this, we developed SF@DEX nanomaterials and investigated their therapeutic potential and mechanisms in RD.

Predicting postoperative visual recovery is challenging, even with surgical reattachment. Research has indicated that increased iron and transferrin (TF) saturation in the vitreous fluid (VF) correlates with poorer visual outcomes, suggesting a potential role for ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death, in PR following RD.

Methods: A total of 57 patients' samples were included. 30 patients with RRD were set as the control group, 27 patients with RRDCD were set as the experimental group (16 patients with preoperative glucocorticosteroid (GC+) and 11 patients without preoperative glucocorticosteroid (GC-)).
Cancer is a significant global health challenge, and while chemotherapy remains a widely used treatment, its non-specific toxicity and broad distribution can lead to systemic side effects and limit its effectiveness against tumors. Therefore, the development of safer chemotherapy alternatives is crucial. Prodrugs hold great promise, as they remain inactive until they reach the cancer site, where they are selectively activated by enzymes or specific factors, thereby reducing side effects and improving targeting.

Simvastatin (SIM), a lipid-lowering drug, has been shown to effectively alleviate IRI caused by hyperlipidemia. However, the regulatory mechanism by which SIM alleviates hyperlipidemia-induced hepatic IRI is still not clear.

The electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) is a crucial process for the sustainable production of ammonia (NH) for energy and agriculture applications. However, the reaction's efficiency is highly dependent on the activation of the inert N≡N bond, which is hindered by the electron back-donation to the π* orbitals of the N≡N bond, resulting in low eNRR capacity. Herein, we report a main-group metal-nonmetal (O-In-S) eNRR catalyst featuring a dynamic proton bridge, with In-S serving as the polarization pair and O functioning as the dynamic electron pool.
