Introduction: Spinal Tuberculosis (TB), or Pott's disease, is a significant form of extrapulmonary TB affecting the spine, especially in children. Standard treatments include anti-tuberculosis medications, immobilization, and surgery. The use of Gardner well tongs (GWT) in pediatrics spinal TB is rare due to associated risks and lack of supporting evidence.

In this study, bioplastics with antioxidant and UV protection properties based on tannin and PVA were created for packaging uses. Using a hot water extraction method at various extraction temperatures (60-100 °C), tannins were removed from the bark of Acacia mangium. Tannins with the best antioxidant activity were extracted at 80 °C.

Article Synopsis
  • Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are a promising clean energy technology, but they currently operate at very high temperatures (1073-1273 K).
  • Researchers are focused on lowering these operating temperatures to between 773 and 1073 K without compromising conductivity, particularly by improving the electrolyte component.
  • The study reveals that doping the LaSiO electrolyte with Bi and Sn significantly enhances its conductivity at moderate temperatures, achieving an impressive increase in performance at 873 K compared to the unmodified LaSiO.

Fuel cell membrane of Nafion is commonly used as the electrolyte material of fuel cell which has good mechanical properties, but the hydrophobicity reduce its proton conductivity. Thus, the other polymer is used for the electrolyte membrane. A polymer modification of sulfonated poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF--HFP) by attaching sulfonate group and oxide compounds such as sAlO would enhance the proton conductivity.
