Purpose Of Review: Like elephants (and T cells), accumulating evidence suggest natural killer (NK) cells never forget. The description of adaptive or memory NK cells, which can be induced by HIV/SIV infections and vaccines and associated with protective effects in persons with HIV (PWH), has dramatically increased the interest in leveraging NK cells to prevent HIV infection or suppress HIV reservoirs. However, harnessing their full antiviral potential has been hindered by an incomplete understanding of mechanisms underlying adaptive NK cell development and infected cell recognition.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to identify predictors of prolonged EMS-RT intervals, and to evaluate associations with clinical outcomes in OHCAs occurring in the largest metropolitan area in France.

Prognostic impact of targetable driver alterations in resected early-stage lung cancer.

Background: Apart from fusions and the common mutations, targetable molecular alterations are irrelevant for adjuvant treatment decision making in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This retrospective analysis aimed to investigate if there is a difference in recurrence-free survival in stage I-III NSCLC harboring druggable molecular alterations compared to subtypes without targetable molecular alterations.

Methods: All consecutive patients who underwent surgery with curative intent for NSCLC (stage I-III) with targetable mutations between January 2015 and December 2020 at three Austrian institutions were identified and compared with tumors without targetable molecular alterations.

Ethanol Chemical Gallbladder Ablation for Cholecystitis in Inoperable Elderly Patients.

Purpose: Cholecystitis presents significant treatment challenges, especially in elderly patients with high surgical or anesthetic risks. While cholecystectomy remains the standard intervention, its feasibility is sometimes limited, leading to reliance on cholecystostomy, which has a high recurrence rate and does not address the underlying cause. The aim was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of chemical gallbladder ablation as a minimally invasive treatment option for acute cholecystitis in elderly and comorbid patients.

A Case of Hypocomplementemic Urticarial Vasculitis Syndrome With Severe Renal and Gastrointestinal Involvement.

We present a severe case of hypocomplementemic urticarial vasculitis syndrome (HUVS) and its diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. A 56-year-old male presenting with fever and impaired kidney function was diagnosed with HUVS. Before the initiated treatment was effective, he developed severe colon ischemia, and a subtotal colectomy was required.

[Resurgence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae: a new epidemic ?].

Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia occurs periodically in an endemic-epidemic pattern. The incidence of this disease has fallen drastically as a result of the health measures imposed for the COVID-19 pandemic. In Switzerland, as elsewhere in the world, a new epidemic has been affecting pediatrics and adult populations since September 2023.

Pharmacist-led hospital intervention reduces unintentional patient-generated medication discrepancies after hospital discharge.

Background: Medication reconciliation can significantly reduce clinically important medication errors at hospital discharge, but its impact on post-discharge medication management has not been investigated. We aimed to investigate the incidence of patient-generated medication discrepancies 30 days after hospital discharge and the impact of a pharmacist-led medication reconciliation coupled with patient counselling on clinically important discrepancies caused by patients.
