Nanoporous anodic alumina (nPAA) films formed on aluminum in lower aliphatic carboxylic acids exhibit blue self-coloring and characteristic properties such as photoluminescence (PL), electroluminescence, and electron spin resonance. The blue colors are seemingly originated from the adsorbed radicals incorporating into the oxide during the aluminum anodization. However, there is lack of reports revealing the detailed activation mechanism of the adatoms in the complexes.

In this study, cordierite-based ceramics (2MgO·2AlO·5SiO) were synthesized using high-purity MgO, AlO, and SiO as starting materials. The influence of the MgO/AlO ratio on various properties, including the thermal behavior, pyrometric cone refractory behavior, phase formation, physical properties, and microstructure of the synthesized ceramics, was systematically analyzed. Increasing the MgO/AlO ratio progressively weakened the cordierite network, leading to lower temperatures for liquid formation and melting.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare outcomes between two types of fixation methods for femoral neck fractures in patients 50 years and older: in situ fixation and fixation after closed reduction, using data from five hospitals.
  • It included 206 patients aged around 69, finding that fixation failure and reoperation rates were significantly higher in the fixation after closed reduction group (26.7% and 20% respectively) compared to the in situ group (6.8% and 7.5%).
  • While osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) rates were similar in both groups, patients in the in situ fixation group showed better functional scores in Koval's grading at 6 and 12 months compared to the other group

Background And Purpose: Rescue stent (RS) is an accepted rescue option after failed mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for acute ischemic stroke due to intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS)-related large vessel occlusion (LVO). However, the long-term outcomes (≥ 12 months) of RS have not yet been elucidated.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 154 patients with RS for ICAS-related LVO, which were identified from prospectively maintained multicenter database of RS after MT failure, to assess good outcome (mRS 0-2), mortality, stroke recurrence, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (SICH) and stent patency.

Objective: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a rare but debilitating disease characterized by a progressive necrosis of jaw bones in patients who have received anti-resorptive or anti-angiogenic therapies. Unfortunately, we still have no validated preventive or pharmaceutical interventions to help these patients, primarily due to our limited understanding of MRONJ pathogenesis. Here, we offer an extensive review of recent studies relevant to MRONJ pathogenesis.

This paper proposes a heuristic association algorithm between access points (APs) and user equipment (UE) in user-centric cell-free massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems, specifically targeting scenarios where UEs share the same frequency and time resources. The proposed algorithm prevents overserving APs and ensures the connectivity of all UEs, even when the number of UEs is significantly greater than the number of APs. Additionally, we assume the use of low-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to reduce fronthaul capacity.
