In recent years, advancements in computer vision have yielded new prospects for intelligent transportation applications, specifically in the realm of automated traffic flow data collection. Within this emerging trend, the ability to swiftly and accurately detect vehicles and extract traffic flow parameters from videos captured during snowfall conditions has become imperative for numerous future applications. This paper proposes a new analytical framework designed to extract traffic flow parameters from traffic flow videos recorded under snowfall conditions.

The structures and activities of enzymes are influenced by pH of the environment. Understanding and distinguishing the adaptation mechanisms of enzymes to extreme pH values is of great significance for elucidating the molecular mechanisms and promoting the industrial applications of enzymes. In this study, the ESM-2 protein language model was used to encode the secreted microbial proteins with the optimal performance above pH 9 and below pH 5, which yielded 47 725 high-pH protein sequences and 66 079 low-pH protein sequences, respectively.

This study aims to describe the influenza seasonal characteristics in the first two seasons after lifting COVID-19 NPIs and assess shifts before, during, and after the pandemic.
Methods: We analyzed country-specific weekly influenza data (2011-2024) from WHO FluNet and collected COVID-19 NPI timing from official announcements.
Despite the vital role of astrocytes in preserving blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity, their therapeutic potential as targets in ischemic stroke-induced barrier disruption remains underexplored. We previously reported externalization of phosphatidylserine (PS) on astrocytic membranes concurrent with the emergence of PS externalization in neurons. PS externalization of astrocytes induced microglial phagocytosis of astrocytes, resulting in reduced astrocyte-vascular coupling and subsequent BBB breakdown.

However, the types of reproductive hormones associated with DEHP vary across the studies. Thus, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to pool existing epidemiological evidence.

A facile method to fabricate semitransparent PSCs involves preparing a perovskite (PVSK) film on two transparent substrates and then laminating the substrates together. However, realizing high-performance laminated semitransparent PSCs is challenging because the imperfect contact at the PVSK interlayer results in void formation and partial degradation of PVSK.

CSF hypersecretion due to ChP inflammation has emerged as an important pathogenesis of hydrocephalus recently. Nevertheless, the precise mechanisms of ChP inflammation and the ensuing CSF hypersecretion in hydrocephalus remain ill-defined.

Studies have indicated the different effects of PM components on human health. However, specific components that influence the severity of disease in schizophrenia patients and their underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, a repeated measures study for schizophrenia was constructed based on Anhui Mental Health Center.

Based on AA metabolism-related genes, we established three NB subtypes associated with distinct prognoses and specific functions, with C1 and C2 having better outcomes. The C1 displayed enhanced metabolic activity and recruited metabolism-associated cells.

The peaks observed in M-mode fetal echocardiograms serve as pivotal diagnostic markers for fetal arrhythmias. However, speckles, artifacts, and noise pose notable challenges for accurate image analysis.

This study aimed to assess the survival benefit of pTACE for HCC patients with CP B.
Methods: Data from 297 HCC patients with CP B7 or B8 were analyzed, dividing them into groups with and without pTACE (70, 23.
Record-breaking hot weather (exceptional heatwaves) has been increasingly common worldwide, posing a significant threat to human health. However, little is known about the effect of these exceptional heatwaves on mortality in Europe, especially since the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, which converges with climate change to affect healthcare systems and human lives. We collected mortality data of 967 regions in 30 European countries over the last decade (2014-2023) from the Eurostat.

In this work, a novel and high-connectivity CuBiO-polyaniline nanofibrous (CuBiO-PN) reticular structure is created by integrating CuBiO hierarchical microspheres (CuBiO MS) with polyaniline nanofibrous. The introduction of CuBiO-PN as a hole transport layer (HTL) notably enhances the contact quality of the devices and substantially reduces the surface defects of C-PSCs.

However, there is limited evidence on the impact of hot and cold nights on cause-specific diseases such as pneumonia, which is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children.
Methods: We collected daily data on pneumonia hospitalisations in children under five years from 2011 to 2017 in three low-, middle- and high-income countries (Bangladesh, China, and Australia).
Background: An influenza forecasting system is critical to influenza epidemic preparedness. Low temperature has long been recognized as a condition favoring influenza epidemic, yet it fails to justify the summer influenza peak in tropics/subtropics. Recent studies have suggested that absolute humidity (AH) had a U-shape relationship with influenza survival and transmission across climate zones, indicating that a unified influenza forecasting system could be established for China with various climate conditions.

CTP images allow quantitative estimation of CT perfusion parameters, which can provide information on the degree of tissue hypoperfusion and its salvage potential. Traditional methods for estimating perfusion parameters, such as singular value decomposition (SVD) and its variations, are known to be sensitive to noise and inaccuracies in the arterial input function.

To improve their performances, there is an immediate necessity to lithograph surface nano-patterns on them. Although the Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM) provides a promising way to achieve this purpose through the water menisci, the driving mechanisms of the lithographic behaviors have not yet been revealed.

We aimed to estimate the historical and future mortality burden associated with temperatures above the heat alert thresholds of the Chinese national HHAP.
Methods: We conducted time-series analyses to estimate the mortality burden associated with temperatures exceeding the three heat alert thresholds from 2016 to 2019 in Jiangsu Province (including 13 cities, population ∼80.
Purpose: Extreme temperatures and air pollution are increasingly important risk factors for human health in the background of climate change, with limited evidence available for neurological disorders. This study intended to investigate the short-term effects of extreme temperatures on childhood epilepsy and explore the potential modifying effect of air pollution.
Methods: Daily childhood epilepsy hospitalization, meteorological and air pollution data were collected from 10 cities in Anhui Province of China during 2016-2018.
Background: The climate change scenario has witnessed an increase in extreme temperature events (ETEs), including heat waves and cold spells, and a heightened occurrence of compounding with fine particulate matter (PM). However, the impact of this phenomenon on the sensitivity to thyroid hormones (THs) in humans is unclear, especially in a group as specific as schizophrenia.
Methods: A longitudinal study was constructed using longitudinal measurements of thyroid function in schizophrenia in the Anhui Mental Health Center.
