The current study determined that an age-associated CD8 T cell subset (Taa) with high Granzyme K ( ) and low Granzyme B ( ) gene expression infiltrate aged human prostates and positively correlate with International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS). A velocity analysis indicated that CD8 T cell differentiation is altered in large BPH prostates compared to small age-matched prostates, favoring Taa accumulation.

Objective: This study evaluates the utility of word embeddings, generated by large language models (LLMs), for medical diagnosis by comparing the semantic proximity of symptoms to their eponymic disease embedding ("eponymic condition") and the mean of all symptom embeddings associated with a disease ("ensemble mean").
Materials And Methods: Symptom data for 5 diagnostically challenging pediatric diseases-CHARGE syndrome, Cowden disease, POEMS syndrome, Rheumatic fever, and Tuberous sclerosis-were collected from PubMed. Using the Ada-002 embedding model, disease names and symptoms were translated into vector representations in a high-dimensional space.

Objective: To determine the associations between maternal fish intake (a rich source of the n-3 PUFAs), maternal or cord PUFAs with the prevalence of childhood asthma in a high fish-eating population.
Methods: We examined these associations between fish intake and PUFA concentrations with childhood asthma prevalence in the Seychelles Child Development Study Nutrition Cohort 2, a large observational study in a high fish-eating population.

In contrast to animal foods, wild plants often require long, multistep processing techniques that involve significant cognitive skills and advanced toolkits to perform. These costs are thought to have hindered how hominins used these foods and delayed their adoption into our diets. Through the analysis of starch grains preserved on basalt anvils and percussors, we demonstrate that a wide variety of plants were processed by Middle Pleistocene hominins at the site of Gesher Benot Ya'aqov in Israel, at least 780,000 y ago.

We characterized trajectories of math achievement in girls with ADHD and an age- and ethnicity-matched comparison sample from childhood through early adulthood across four waves and examined childhood cognitive predictors (global executive functioning, working memory, processing speed) of trajectories. The ethnically and socioeconomically diverse sample comprised 140 girls with carefully diagnosed ADHD and 88 neurotypicals, ages 6 to 12 years at baseline.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are flame retardants heavily utilized across plastic, textile and electronic industries. Although these PBDEs are effective in protecting property and human life from fire, their high production volumes have led PBDEs to become pervasive environmental contaminants and pose an ecological and health risk as high levels have been noted in environmental media including water and sediment, wildlife and human tissue.
