Aim: To assess the efficacy of Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) compared to caudal block in reducing postoperative pain in paediatric surgery.
Methods: An electronic literature search was conducted using the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, with data collected from January 2018 until September 2023. This meta-analysis includes English-language randomized controlled trials (RCTs) studies contrasting ESPB with caudal block in paediatric patients.
Radiative cooling significantly lowers condenser temperatures below ambient levels, enabling atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) without additional energy. However, traditional sky-facing condensers have low cooling power density, and water droplets remain pinned on surface, requiring active condensate collection. To overcome these challenges, a lubricated surface (LS) coating-consisting of highly scalable polydimethylsiloxane elastomer lubricated with silicone oil-is introduced on the condenser side in a vertical double-sided architecture.

Objective: To investigate the physiological effects and subjective comfort level of inflatable deep pressure vests to enhance their calming effect.
Background: A survey conducted by McKinsey & Company reported that, as of May 2022, as many as 26% of Indonesians had recently started to engage actively in physical activity, 32% undertook regular physical activity, and 9% exercised intensely. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has spurred the rapid development of mobile fitness apps (MFAs) used to track people's sports activities. However, public interest in using these apps for any length of time is still relatively low.

Here, four free-standing 2D CPOP films of imine- or hydrazone-linked polymers (ILP/HLP) in combination with benzene (B-ILP/HLP) and triphenylbenzene (TPB-ILP/HLP) aromatic cores are synthesized. The anisotropic disordered films, composed of polymeric layered structures, can be exfoliated into ultrathin 2D-nanosheets with layer-dependent electrical properties.

Membrane-based nanofiltration offers a more energy-efficient separation than the conventional thermal processes. Conceivably, mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs), encompassing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as fillers, are poised to promote selective separation via molecular sieving, synergistically combining polymers flexibility and fine-tuned porosity of MOFs.

Through nanodomain engineering, we developed, without using toxic cross-linking agents, interpenetrating biopolymer network membranes from natural compounds that have opposing polarity in water. Agarose and natural rubber latex were consecutively self-assembled and self-cross-linked to form patchlike nanodomains.

These impacts are resulting in long-term consequences especially for human resources, such as poor-quality labor, decreased productivity due to decreasing of health quality, including immunity and cognitive aspect.
Discussion: This comprehensive review found that based on many studies, there is an altered gut microbiota, or dysbiosis, in stunted children, causing the impairment of brain development through Microbiota-Gut Brain Axis (MGB Axis) mechanism.
Background: Surgical removal of a vestibular schwannoma is a complex and challenging procedure, which may be complicated by development of postoperative hematomas, particularly after incomplete resection of the tumor.
Objective: To investigate the occurrence of postoperative intra- or peritumoral hematomas after surgery for a vestibular schwannoma.
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated 49 patients (age range 17-78 years) with a vestibular schwannoma, who were treated surgically via the lateral suboccipital approach between 2011 and 2016.
Background: Cerebellopontine angle (CPA) meningioma presents a significant management challenge due to its intricate relationship with the brainstem neurovascular bundles. The emphasis in the past has been on facial nerve preservation, but the current management standard is hearing preservation in patients with serviceable hearing; however, hearing restoration after complete loss is rare. We report an elderly man who had restoration of hearing in the right ear after complete loss following tumor resection through the retrosigmoid route.

The process of carcinogenesis at the molecular level can be monitored through the production of proteins as biomarkers for carcinogenesis. 7,12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) is a known carcinogenic compound.

Previous studies show that individuals with FXS exhibit changing behavior over time; therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the aberrant behavior profile of FXS individuals. The Aberrant Behavior Checklist-Community (ABC-C) was used to measure the aberrant behavior profile of individuals with FXS, which was rated by the parent/caregiver combined with clinical impression.

Herein, the temperature-driven structural and morphological evolutions of fullerenols C (OH) and C (OH) were investigated. In situ spectroscopic techniques, such as variable-temperature X-ray diffraction and coupled thermogravimetric Fourier-transform infrared analysis, were used to elucidate the structural transformation mechanism of fullerenols.

(1) Background: Methylmercury (MeHg) exposure during pregnancy is an important issue due to its possible adverse health effects on fetus. To contribute the development of assessment system of Hg exposure through fish consumption and health effects on children, we examined the hair Hg levels in pregnant women and birth weight and length. (2) Methods: In 2018, a cohort study was conducted on 118 pregnant women-infant pairs from six community health centers in the northern coastal area in Central Java Indonesia.

The association between cerebral edema (CE), which often occurs after implantation, and perioperative seizures, which are often observed in MG cases, is under debate. This study investigated risk factors for CE associated with BCNU wafer implantation and their relationship with perioperative seizures.

These devices work as stand-alone units, making the flow of operative information complicated and disjointed. A novel networked operating room, the Smart Cyber Operating Theater (SCOT), has been developed, integrating stand-alone medical devices using the OPeLiNK communication interface.

Production of MOF-containing shaped particles is typically associated with loss of porosity and modification of acid sites, two phenomena that affect their performance. Herein, we report a detailed study on how extrusion affects the crystallinity, porosity, and acidity of the aluminium fumarate MOF with clays or SiO gel binders.

The paucity of QoL reports from developing countries has enlarged the representation gap between wealthy countries and countries with fewer resources. In this study, we evaluated postoperative QoL in the Indonesian drug-resistant epilepsy cohort where the epilepsy surgery service faces limited resource availability.

Background: The fence post technique, which involves insertion of catheters as fence posts around a tumor, has been widely used to demarcate the tumor border for maximal resection of intraparenchymal tumors, such as gliomas. However, a standard procedure for fence post insertion has not been established, and there are some limitations. To overcome this problem, a simple microscopic navigation-guided fence post technique was developed.
