Sperm motility is a key factor influencing male fertility and is associated with metabolic and lipid profiles across species. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sperm motility and the seminal plasma lipid profile in Simmental bulls, and to identify key lipids potentially influencing sperm motility. Semen samples were collected from 26 healthy Simmental bulls with an average age of 4.

This paper argues for a shift in focus from the outcomes of anger to its moral and psychological foundations. By integrating insights from psychological research, this study posits that the fundamental nature of anger is intrinsically linked to the quest for recognition.

Purpose: Targeting mitochondrial ferroptosis presents a promising strategy for mitigating myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of the mitochondrial-targeted ferroptosis inhibitor SS-31@Fer-1 (elamipretide@ferrostatin1) in reducing myocardial I/R injury.
Methods: SS-31@Fer-1 was synthesized and applied to H9C2 cells subjected to hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) to assess its protective effects.
BTG3, which belongs to the BTG/Tob gene family, is involved in various physiological processes. Infection with porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), an alphacoronavirus, is associated with high mortality rates among piglets, contributing to major economic losses. This study elucidated a novel mechanism through which BTG3 suppresses PEDV replication.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPorcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), as a type of Alphacoronavirus causing acute diarrhea and high death rate among sucking piglets, poses great financial damage to the swine industry. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanism whereby PEDV enters host cells is unclear, limiting the development of PED vaccines and anti-PEDV agents. The present study found that the host protein ribonuclease kappa (RNASEK) was regulated by USF2, a transcription factor, and facilitated the PEDV replication.

Recent studies prove that NPs/MPs can induce various toxicities in organisms, with these adverse effects closely related to gut microbiota changes. This review thoroughly summarized the interactions between NPs/MPs and gut microbiota in various hosts, speculated on the potential factors affecting these interactions, and outlined the impacts on hosts' health caused by NPs/MPs exposure and gut microbiota dysbiosis.

The zebrafish model can be used to assess the functions of human ADGRV1 and its variant alleles during embryonic development. In this study, we summarized the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of four children with ADGRV1 variation and based on this, we validated the ADGRV1 loss phenotype in an adgrv1-knockout zebrafish model.

Recently, marine-derived bioactive peptides have gained attention as potential functional food ingredients due to their therapeutic potential. Takifugu obscurus, an economically significant offshore fish rich in crude proteins was explored in this study as a source of XOD inhibitory peptides.

With the increasing scale of UAV applications, finding an efficient and safe path in complex real-world environments is crucial. However, existing particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithms struggle with these problems as they fail to consider UAV dynamics, resulting in many infeasible solutions and poor convergence to optimal solutions.

Moreover, rare studies have explored the effect of individual HEI components on survival in this population. This study explored the association between the HEI-2020, including total and 13 component scores, and mortality in BC survivors.

To investigate the within-person bidirectional relationships among relational victimization, coping styles and depressive symptoms, this study conducted a four-wave random intercept cross-lagged panel model analysis. The final sample consisted of 1506 adolescents, 72.

However, existing application models often rely on basic architectures like artificial neural networks (ANNs) and multilayer perceptron (MLP), lagging behind cutting-edge technologies in the machine learning domain. Furthermore, the complexity of current machine learning frameworks leads to reduced interpretability and challenges for improvement.

Methods: We performed an individual-level, time-stratified case-crossover analysis utilizing province-wide IS deaths (n = 59079) in warm seasons (May-September) during 2016-2019, across Jiangsu, eastern China. Heatwave was defined according to a combination of multiple temperature thresholds (90-97.
Zearalenone (ZEN) is a harmful macrolide mycotoxin, posing a serious hazard to human health. In this study, a highly efficient ZEN-degrading bacterium Gordonia hydrophobica HAU421 was isolated from soil by using spiramycin (SPM)-containing selective medium. Mass spectrometry analysis revealed that strain HAU421 could transform ZEN into hydrolyzed zearalenone (HZEN), zearalenol (ZEL), and hydrolyzed zearalenol (HZEL).

A central paradigm of nonequilibrium physics concerns the dynamics of heterogeneity and disorder, impacting processes ranging from the behavior of glasses to the emergent functionality of active matter. Understanding these complex mesoscopic systems requires probing the microscopic trajectories associated with irreversible processes, the role of fluctuations and entropy growth, and the timescales on which nonequilibrium responses are ultimately maintained. Approaches that illuminate these processes in model systems may enable a more general understanding of other heterogeneous nonequilibrium phenomena, and potentially define ultimate speed and energy cost limits for information processing technologies.

However, problems of NCM622 materials, such as unstable surface structure, lithium-nickel co-segregation, and intergranular cracking, led to a decrease in the cycling performance of the material and an inability to fully utilize high specific capacity. Surface coating was the primary approach to address these problems.

We report the appearance of superconductivity in single-unit-cell NdNiO, exhibiting a transition temperature similar to that of thicker films. In situ synchrotron x-ray scattering performed during growth of the parent phase, NdNiO, shows that the necessary layer-by-layer deposition sequence does not follow the sequence of the formula unit but an alternate order due to the relative stability of the perovskite unit cell. We exploit this insight to grow ultrathin NdNiO heterostructures and conduct in situ studies of topotactic reduction, finding that formation of the square-planar phase occurs rapidly and is highly sensitive to reduction temperature, with small deviations from the optimum condition leading to inhomogeneity and the loss of superconductivity.

Deep learning-based cortical surface reconstruction (CSR) methods heavily rely on pseudo ground truth (pGT) generated by conventional CSR pipelines as supervision, leading to dataset-specific challenges and lengthy training data preparation. We propose a new approach for reconstructing multiple cortical surfaces using from brain MRI ribbon segmentations. Our approach initializes a midthickness surface and then deforms it inward and outward to form the inner (white matter) and outer (pial) cortical surfaces, respectively, by jointly learning diffeomorphic flows to align the surfaces with the boundaries of the cortical ribbon segmentation maps.
