Electromagnetic radiation energy at millimeter wave frequencies, typically 30 GHz to 300 GHz, is ubiquitously used in society in devices for telecommunications; radar and imaging systems for vehicle collision avoidance, security screening, and medical equipment; scientific research tools for spectroscopy; industrial applications for non-destructive testing and precise measurement; and military and defense applications. Understanding the biological effects of this technology is essential. We have been investigating ocular responses and damage thresholds comparing various frequencies using rabbit eyes and dedicated experimental apparatus.

Copper deficiency causes symptoms such as characteristic abnormalities in the hair and vascular disorders. Brain MRI findings include a high-signal intensity in the temporal lobe white matter on T2-weighted images and delayed myelination.

This case reports a patient who developed primary cardiac lymphoma resulting in cardiac tamponade. Despite a compromised general condition, the lymphoma was diagnosed through a transvenous tumor biopsy.

This condition is also common in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI); however, its relationship with ADL in this group remains unclear. Hence, this study examined the association between sarcopenic obesity and ADL in individuals with SCI.

Microvascular resistance reserve (MRR) has been demonstrated to be a valid cross-modality metric using continuous saline infusion thermodilution and intracoronary Doppler flow velocity methods. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and diagnostic concordance of CMD defined by MRR using two methods-stress transthoracic Doppler echocardiography (S-TDE) and the invasive bolus thermodilution method (B-Thermo)-in patients with functionally significant epicardial stenosis.

Herein, we present a rare case of DLI caused by Mycobacterium chelonae, which was promptly diagnosed using Gram stain and Ziehl-Neelsen stain and followed a favorable clinical course.
Case Presentation: A 51-year-old man with an iLVAD complicated by DLI was admitted to our center.
Purpose: To evaluate the impact of varying concentrations of 3 mol% yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline ceramic (3Y-TZP) nanoparticles on mechanical properties of three-dimensional (3D)-printed resins in stereolithography (SLA) technology.
Materials And Methods: A total of four groups (n = 6) of specimens were printed. Pure 3D-printed resin was used as the control group (0 wt%).
Background: Global coronary flow reserve (G-CFR) impairment represents coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) and correlates with poor prognosis. Hyperemic coronary flow is reduced in conventional CMD, but normal or mildly reduced with elevated resting flow in endogenous-type CMD (E-CMD). This retrospective study assessed the prognostic value of post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) CMD, focusing on E-CMD.

Methods: A total of 213 participants, including athletes from various sports (gymnastics, boat racing, swimming, soccer, judo, and baseball) and non-athletes, were included (142 men, 71 women, average age 21.5 ± 2.
The development of chiral compounds exhibiting circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) has advanced remarkably in recent years. Designing CPL-active compounds requires an understanding of the electric transition dipole moment () and the magnetic transition dipole moment () in the excited state. However, while the direction and magnitude of can, to some extent, be visually inferred from chemical structures, remains elusive, posing challenges for direct predictions based on structural information.

In this study, we designed and synthesized dithienonaphthobisthiadiazole (TNT) as a thiophene-fused acceptor (A) building unit and two TNT-based π-conjugated polymers named PTNT2T and PTNT1-F. We found that the microwave-assisted thiophene annulation reaction (thienannulation) of arylethynylated naphthobisthiadiazole (NTz) C-H functionalization effectively produced TNT moieties.

We aimed to evaluate the effect of elective percutaneous coronary revascularization (PCI) on CFC using serial stress transthoracic Doppler echocardiography (STDE). Overall, 148 stable patients underwent STDE of the left anterior descending arteries (LAD), before and after elective PCI.

Unlabelled: We present a case of BK polyomavirus (BKV) nephropathy (BKVN) after heart transplantation (HTx). The patient was a male with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy who received HTx at the age of 56 years [serum creatinine (sCre) at the time of HTx: 0.89 mg/dl].

SCGB3A2 type A, the correctly spliced major type, begins to be expressed from embryonic day 11.5 in mice and shows various physiological activities such as promoting lung maturation and bronchial branching, anti-inflammatory effects, and ameliorating induced pulmonary fibrosis.

MgB2C2 fragments were selected by examining C K-emission profiles. C and B K-emission and Mg L-emission spectra were obtained, revealing common and distinct structures that reflect the mixing of valence orbitals.

This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of G-CFR improvement, as evaluated using PC-CMR imaging pre- and post-percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: In this single-center study, 320 patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) who underwent pre- and post-PCI PC-CMR measurements were followed up to determine major adverse cardiac or cerebrovascular events (MACCE) predictors.
Background: Dyslipidemia is a primary risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Exercise training (EXTr) improves some lipid markers but not others; the literature is dated and analyses may be underpowered.
Objectives: To clarify which lipid markers are altered with ExTr and establish if information size had yet reached futility.
Background In our hospital, anastomotic leakage (AL) is observed in approximately 2% of functional end-to-end anastomosis (FEEA) cases annually. It is also usually observed at the staple line of the entry hole closure in several reoperation cases. This study aimed to investigate whether AL would occur in FEEA using a new staple line reinforcement tool, ECHELON ENDOPATH Staple Line Reinforcement (SLR) (Ethicon, Raritan, NJ, USA).
