Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease with high prevalence and mortality. The rupture of atherosclerotic plaque is the main reason for the clinical events caused by atherosclerosis. Making clear the transcriptomic and proteomic profiles between the stabe and unstable atherosclerotic plaques is crucial to prevent the clinical manifestations.

Cadmium (Cd) is a highly toxic environmental pollutant, leading to the occurrence and development of multiple neurological diseases. γ-glutamylcysteine (γ-GC) is a dipeptide formed by the condensation of l-glutamic acid and l-cysteine, which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and chelating properties. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of γ-GC on Cd-induced apoptosis in PC12 cells.

Background: The incidence and prevalence of Crohn's disease (CD) are increasing in China, but there are few reports on the characteristics of patients requiring abdominal surgery. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics of these patients and the potential risk factors for postoperative complications and surgical recurrence.

Methods: In this observational, retrospective single-center cohort analysis, patients with CD who had undergone at least one abdominal surgery at our center from 2007 to 2020 were included.

Antiviral agents based on natural products have attracted substantial attention in clinical applications for their distinct biological activities, molecular structuralmultiformities, and low biotoxicities. Ferulic acid (FA) with apigenin propaneto form an esterified FA derivative (FAAP).Herein, we designed a CsPbBr3-modified chitosan oligosaccharide, a biomimetic nanoplatform that could load with FAAP.

Introduction: The mesentery is involved in Crohn's disease. The impact of the extent of mesenteric resection on postoperative disease progression in Crohn's disease remains unconfirmed. This study aimed to determine the association between resection of the mesentery and postoperative outcomes in patients with Crohn's colitis (CC) undergoing colorectal surgery.

(LM) is a foodborne pathogen, and it can pose a risk of serious diseases to the human health. Hence, the development of an effective method for the detection of LM is very important. In this study, by selecting LM as the template and 3-thiopheneacetic acid as the functional monomer, an LM-imprinted polymer (LIP)-based sensor was proposed for the first time to detect LM by electropolymerizing TPA on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface in the presence of LM.

Importance: Functional limitation is increasingly common as people age and is often associated with negative consequences. Evidence of the dynamics of functional limitation within couples in China is still inadequate.

Objectives: To examine whether functional limitation was associated within middle-aged and older couples and to explore sex differences in spousal associations.

Objective: To compare the effect of electroacupuncture (EA), metformin and EA plus metformin on the cognitive ability and senile plaques (SPs) in cerebral cortex and hippocampus of Alzheimer's disease (AD) mice, so as to explore a better treatment method for AD.

Methods: Twenty-four male APP/PS1 mice were randomly divided into model, metformin (medication), EA and EA+medication groups, with 6 mice in each group. Other 6 male wild C57 mice were used as the control group.

It has recently become clear that several human lineages coexisted with during the late Middle and Late Pleistocene. Here, we report an archaic human fossil that throws new light on debates concerning the diversification of the genus and the origin of . The fossil was recovered in Harbin city in northeastern China, with a minimum uranium-series age of 146 ka.

Retinopathy is a rare side effect of interferon α-2b treatment. The goal of this study was to prospectively investigate the clinical characteristics of Chinese patients with melanomas who developed retinopathy following high doses of interferon α-2b (HD-IFN) therapy. The study included 56 melanoma stage I-III patients that were treated with HD-IFN.

This study highlights new opportunities for optimal reaction route selection from large chemical databases brought about by the rapid digitalisation of chemical data. The chemical industry requires a transformation towards more sustainable practices, eliminating its dependencies on fossil fuels and limiting its impact on the environment. However, identifying more sustainable process alternatives is, at present, a cumbersome, manual, iterative process, based on chemical intuition and modelling.

Background: To assess the current myopia prevalence rate and evaluate the effect of sunshine duration on myopia among primary school students in the north and south of China.

Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study pooled data from 9171 primary school students (grades from 1 to 6) from four cities in the north and south of China. National Geomatics Center of China (NGCC) and China Meteorological Administration provided data about altitude, latitude, longitude, average annual temperature, and average annual sunshine duration.

Designing flame-retardant polymers with high performance is a long-standing challenge, partly because of the time-consuming traditional approaches based on experiential intuition and trial-and-error screenings. Inspired by the effective new paradigm of data-driven material discovery, we used machine learning to analyze experimental data to accelerate the development of new flame-retardant polymers. To explore the relationship between limit oxygen index (LOI) and components, we prepared 20 composites and then trained a simple equation for the LOI using the method sure independence screening and sparsifying operator (SISSO).

A novel cytosensor was constructed for the ultrasensitive detection and nondestructive release of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) by combining Au nanoparticles-loaded two-dimensional bimetallic PdMo (2D Au@PdMo) nanozymes and electrochemical reductive desorption. The 2D Au@PdMo nanozymes possessed high-efficiency peroxidase-like activity and were assembled with an aptamer composed of a thiol-modified epithelial specific cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) to strengthen CTCs adhesion. Moreover, the electrode surface was decorated with highly fractal Au nanostructures (HFAuNSs) composites due to the similarity in fractal nanostructure with the CTCs membrane to enhance the CTCs anchoring efficiency and release capability.

Membrane ruffling plays an important role in the directed cell migration and escape of tumor cells from the monolayer. Metastasis suppressor 1 (MTSS1), also known as missing in metastasis, has been implicated in cell morphology, motility, metastasis, and development. Here, the dynamic interaction proteins associated with MTSS1 and involved in membrane ruffling were determined by cross-linking and mass spectrometry analysis.
